I heard they were having a film around August 2011 and have been freaking out ever since. Can't wait.
And I'm confused. Where I live, (uk) it comes out early evening on Thursday.
Also, I'm gonna go on Saturday, But the organisation screwed up. Here's what happened:
I decide to go with 6 of my friends (and I had to go with me dad since it's a 12A) to the film on Saturday, and see how many of them can come the next day. But the next day one of the 6 is also asking everyone if they can go to it at the same time on the same day, and I'm totally confused. I realise it was total luck. Luck that: A. We are going to the same film. B. We are going on the same day. C. We are going at the same time. D. We're inviting almost the same people.
Creeeeeeepy. O.o

@above post: Peeta was absolutely useless the whole time. Really, Katniss could have won much easier if she didn't have to carry around dead weight. Of course, that defies the whole "star-crossed lover" thing. Also, I can't be the only one to see all of the Romeo and Juliet references in the book, right? Star crossed lovers? The stunt at the end? (not saying specifics to spoil it, but the thing the Capitol didn't like)
Ikr? Peeta is so USELESS!!
@topic: trailer was really good!! Cant wait to watch it

i never read hunger games but i would see the movie first then read the book so i wont hate the movie as much IF it sucks. Im not hating on Hunger Games or anything.
I learned the hardway with the Lightning Thief by reading the book first then saw the movie. If i saw the movie first i might have not thought the movie was bad.

Wickimen, I think it's absolutely hilarious that your parents won't even let you read the books for the sole reason that I read them when I was nine. :P
EDIT: Fine, not hilarious. Whatever.

I don't really think it's hilarious. I don't think it's appropriate for younger readers, really.

Hmm.
I don't see the fuss surrounding this movie.
Is it now particularly commonplace for book-based movies to have midnight openings everywhere?
I mean, book-based movies oft turn out terribly. We have no confirmation these will be different.
Now, what I can only assume is why this is happening at Midnight everywhere for, is Harry Potter. However, that series proved itself successful and the movies rather good.
"The Hunger Games" hasn't done that. I understand using the release at Midnight to a moneymaking advantage, but I mean, why do so many average people wish to attend?

The first couple of chapters pretty much terrified me in about fifth grade, which is most of the reason why I'm not allowed to read them now

Actually, we do. IGN rated the movie 8 out of 10, which is actually pretty good.

People asking me "team peeta or team gale" is kinda screwing up the entire thing IMO

The soundtrack (Songs from District 12 and Beyond) seems good. I'm going to the movie Friday.
Edit: I'm no country fan, but Taylor Swift's Safe and Sound is amazing on the soundtrack.

I love Tomorrow Will Be Kinder. I got it for free because I (or my Mom, actually) ordered tickets from Fandango

The only problem about seeing movies in movie theaters is that I eat way to much popcorn. :3
It's not worth it! Do NOT go to the cornucopia! Jk lol.

Going to see it tomorrow, possibly IMAX, maybe, maybe not. Some people in my school going to the midnight release! (We're on spring break until monday, when we go back)

My mom's new excuse for me not being able to read them is that I would "think about it too much"
Anyway, the real reason I came on here is that they're having a Hunger Games event at my library tomorrow, which I thought was cool

Lolol that's alright
According to the library brochure, you can win a "Cornucopia" or something at the event and whatnot
Looks fun
Too bad I can't read them
(Well like, I've read most of the first one, but since I shouldn't've, then my mom would say I have no reason for going)

Why can't you read them? I'm only eleven and I'm allowed to read them....
