As of now, I barely know how to fry an egg. And I haven't even tried yet  tongue  I really should get around to actually learn how to cook sometime.  hmm

I once tried to separate the yolk. Someone was helping me but I still dropped it a lot. I didn't do that well overall but I did better than I could of.

Well, you could start with boiling eggs.
You can't ruin boiled eggs, no matter how hard you try.

Yes you can, I once forgot to turn it off for a long time.

The water had mostly boiled away...

And most of the eggs were cracked and spilling.

I'm usually a pretty good cook, but that day was not my day  tongue

Re: I can't make pancakes even with a pre-made mix.

I can make:
Soup (from scratch)
Cookies (from scratch)
Scrambled eggs (from scratch)
Waffles (from scratch)
Pancakes (from scratch)
Pizza (from scratch)
Bread (from scratch)
Zucchini Feta Bread (from scratch)

And pretty much everything I try.
Mainly because I follow the instructions.

Well if you wanted honesty, that's all you had to say. I never want to let you down or have you go, it's better off this way.

Re: I can't make pancakes even with a pre-made mix.

I like making cake, especially savoury cake, and potato/pasta bakes.
Probably because they are almost impossible to mess up.

I can't pour milk without spilling it. That doesn't really have to do with cooking though.

Why not? It sounds smashing.

You've been quite misinformed, good sir.
My username is Sonatina, which is quite different from a Sonata if I do say so myself.
Wicki can call me Buttwipe for all I care. Actually, I would slap her right on the arm if she did but in a good kind of way, yes.

Sorry, I made a HUGE mistake...

In music, a sonata and a sonatina are pretty much the same thing except a sonata is more large-scale than a sonatina... (I play piano, and when I saw your username, I was thinking, "Perhaps this user plays an instrument  tongue ")

Anyway, back on topic, my mom was baking cupcakes and she thought baking them for 25 minutes was too short so she baked it for 1.5 hour... in the end, it became really hard, but tasty  tongue

Well, plastic is made from oil...

Also, once my sister and I were heating up sticky rice in the microwave and forgot to take the plastic wrap off. It tasted gross, we had to throw it away.

Pancakes are actually quite easy if you do NOT use premade mixes, you just mix some eggs, milk, flour and sugar and fry in butter/oil/whatever.
My greatest cooking failure was when I (by accident) put baking soda into a cake, thinking it was sugar...
My favourite thing to cook is savoury cake. You put ham, cheese, sweetcorn, sweet pepper, flour, eggs, salt etc. into a tin and bake, and it comes out extraordinarily nice.

What happened to the cake? Did it puff up real huge or something?  tongue
