Yep. Like I said, best done when we have all of the fakemon finished.

Guys, I found a project of a Pokemon game remake on Scratch. It ended on the way to the first gym. The project creator said that he had to stop there because Scratch couldn't load all the scripts, downloaded or not. The remake was a while back, so would our newer version have more space for the big scripts we're going to have?

We are probably going to have to wait for scratch 2.0, with the higher upload limit.

Ooh... I was thinking the game would go in sections, and after you finish part 1 you get a password like 27h27jd 3d7H eh38dh and then part 2 asks for the password at the beginning. That was an idea I got from omeone who tried to recreate Pokemon FireRed.

Good idea. And sorry for saying Perirex was bad. I meant good.

I feel like an idiot. I had the starters drawn since BEFORE I even started the collab. You can find them here.

Should the first section be the start of the game and the first gym, second gym+events, third gym+events, and so on?

There's only one drawing, is there supposed to be more?

That would be me, maxdoss and MrMonk, though MrMonk hasn't posted in donkey's years.

Yeah.
Even with that, Its going to take a lot of scripts. The Battle Engine, im pretty sure I can shrink that, but the scrolling engine MUST be long. We may endup have 4-5 breaks. Also Is land and sea 1 version or are the seperate?

So we need to create spreate intros and storylines?

I think that the starters need some work. Let’s take the grass-type starter for an example. The first evolution is simply a seed with a sprout. The purpose of Pokemon is to take an animal, humanoid, or object and give it personality, as well as add physical traits to make it unique. The grass-type starter is a seed with a face. We need more personality! More uniqueness! Further, the grass-type evolves into basically a copy of itself, roots added as an extra. Let’s have a look at other grass-types and their respective evolutions, shall we?

Here’s a Snivy and a Servine. Take a look. You have similar body types, and colors, but they have their own personalities (not to mention their bodies are a bit different) that set them apart from each other. You are able to tell them apart, but they’re distinctly related, so that no one can doubt that one is the evolution of the other.
Back to the proposed grass-type.
Now here, with the final evolution, is a huge leap. If mixed up all of the fakemon we have so far and nixed the names, I almost would not be able to tell that ‘Seetree’ is a part of the ‘Seegra’ family. There is such a large difference between the second and last evolution of ‘Seegra’. I mean, one minute you have this cute little seed with a cute little smile, and the next you have this big honkin’ tree glaring at you. What happened? Where’s my cute little seed? The starters need some work, and that’s a fact. The concept is good, but we need more personality, more distinguishing features. You know what I mean?
...
Wow, that was a pain to write. XP

Well, yes, but the story is almost the same except either:
For Land Version, the sea is evaporated, so you catch the Water Dragon.
For Sea Version, the world is flooded, so you catch the Ground Dragon.

Here’s my proposal for what to do with the grass-type starter:
One: Keep Seegra. That one’s okay for right now, we’ll work on it a bit later.
Two: Nix Seeling and Seetree (Wow, I just noticed: Seeling sounds like ceiling XP). Those two are not going to work in the way we have them right now. We might be able to work a modified Seetree in as final evolution, but Seeling just can’t stay, as I explained in my last post.
Three: Before we start drawing fakemon, we focus on the fakemon themselves: their personalities, their physical appearance, and the general vibe they give off. Are we really going to market sweet Seegra like we have been, and then turn it into a menacing tree? Are we going to give Seegra an easygoing nature, and keep that characteristic throughout its evolution line?
If we’re going to make this game professional, we have to think like professionals.

I agree with Zangooser. I know my grass starters from a later project are seeds are seeds and trees, so maybe look at them. The project is called "New Zayne Grass Starters". It's on my latest project page.

The Flarcat idea is pretty good. The only thing we have to work on is Flarcat itself. It is, quite simply, an orange cat. This plainness takes away the values that Pokémon has created: be imaginative, be different, shake things up. We need to add a little spark to Flarcat, and I’m not talking about making it electric-type. What can we do to make Flarcat different than an ordinary housecat, yet not change its identity? It has to be something, anything, that can turn it from a housepet to a real Pokémon. The tough part about this is, anything we do to Flarcat must be carried into the later evolutions. If we add a fiery tail, we need to give Firgir and Flamion fiery tails. If we add on sabertooth tiger fangs, we add fangs to the others, too. All evolutions have the same general consistency; even though as time progresses and they evolve they may lose or obtain certain details. Usually, if there’s a leaf on this one’s head, there’s going to be a leaf on that one’s head, too.
