Scratch-Mobile(Exists)

For a while now I have heard the Scratch Team and other scratchers have tried to find a way for scratch to be on mobile devices. I have looked into it on ios devices(ipodtouch, iphone and ipad. I also have heard that in scratch2.0, there will be mobile acees to it if apple accepts the java/flash player and some code interpreters, but that's taking chances. Another scratcher, abees, found a way for scratchers to compile their own app and put it on ios. Here's the link: http://blog.champierre.com/924/. Sadly abees method can only become an app if you are or know a apple developer. I have found a different way. I used, 1 ipod,1 iphone, the apps wifipad(gamepad), iteleport connect(remote desktop),and the cpu/labtop versions of the apps to connect it to my labtop. I used my iphone as the screen with iteleport connect. Iteleport is a remote desktop or app that lets you controll you computer from anywhere with a internent(3g or wifi) connection. Then I used wifipad as a gamepad on the ipodtouch to controll the user in scratch.
Pros: ScratchMobile does exist for everyone now and wifipad is free.

Cons:Only on ios(I think), need 2 ios devices, and iteleport connect is 24$ which most people won't get unless they use a different remote desktop that is freeandit runs slow. I heard of an app called screens that is good for a remote desktop, but isn't free.

Other Needs:The Scratch Team or other Scratchers needs to make a free remote desktop app or make a split screen remote desktop app that has a gamepad on the bottom and the screen on top. The second method would only require 1 ios device.
Do you guys scratchers agree or any other suggestions? If your suggestions requres a project become a member of my Scratch-Mobile Exists! Gallery. Simply just ask to join. Thanks!

Clever!  Unfortunately, I only have a single ios device so I will need to wait for a different solution.  I personally believe that the Scratch Team should focus development resources on tablet deployment of Scratch, given that tablets are becoming such popular computing devices.

Re: Scratch-Mobile(Exists)

I did something similar using Socket connections: see the Wiki article (search iOS or Mac on the Wiki). Also, to make a link, use square brackets [].  wink

EDIT: Link to Wiki article: http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Commun … pplication

Re: Scratch-Mobile(Exists)

Thanks to Paddle2See,your idea was great but,it might take some time. Thanks to TheCatAndTheBanana for your suggestion. I'm not sure if that has been done already. I think abees method did the same but, without a jailbreak. Thanks to hardmath for your idea. It seemed to be a remote desktop. I wonder if you could make it into an app. Any other suggestions?  smile

Again your idea was great, but I should have mentioned that on iteleport connect you can build scratch projects using your cpu with only 1 iOS device because it is a remote desktop. You still won't be able to run the project though.

I wouldn't be able to share it, so I don't see the point. But yeah, I could.

Re: Scratch-Mobile(Exists)

Another is mesh if the apple divices have mesh or hatchimi it would work.

Remote Sensor Conectons (RSC) would work as well

If you own a dev license, you can get the old scratch app on your non-jailbroken device.  smile

Actually, I think iFunbox can install .ipa files to an iDevice without jailbreak.

I made an update here on the first post. I wasn't able to experiment with your ideas, but I found another solution in the update. Hardmath or Pitusky, or anyone else who has the.app file: Is it possible to send the .app file through email? Therefore you can share the .app scratch file. Also I don't know how to compile it, can anyone show me how to? Thanks -co13

You can't send a .app file through email because is actually a folder, not a file. I posted a link to the .ipa file before, which you can install on a jailbroken device with iTunes or iFunbox. I think you may need AppSync installed on your iOS device to install through iTunes though.

You should be able to share the folder through email, as long as all the components of the .app file are in it, correct (or not). Also, my ios devices now run on ios6 not ios5. The most suitable jailbreak for my device was absinthe which only supportedios5. Did they make a version for ios6?
