[wiki=Scratch]

If you type [wiki=Scratch (or whatever)], it should become a link to Scratch (or whatever)'s Wiki article. Easy for helping out people on Help With Scripts. What do you think?

Couldn't you just make the link yourself? Well, it would be quicker.

However, to avoid confusion, the format should mimic that of the current URL tags. e.g.:

[wiki]Scratch[/url] would display Scratch
[wiki=Scratch]the program[/wiki] would display the program

Sounds good?  big_smile

Re: [wiki=Scratch]

Yep! Sounds good.
[wiki]Scratch[/wiki]
[wiki=Scratch]Scratch Program[/wiki]

Right?

Re: [wiki=Scratch]

If I wanted to link you to the Wiki article for the Scratch forums, rather than

Code:

[url=wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Scratch_Forums]Scratch Forums @ the Wiki[/url]

I would type:

Code:

[wiki]Scratch Forums[/wiki]

Hardmaths-MacBook-Pro:~ Hardmath$ sudo make $(whoami) a sandwich

What if there wasn't a Wiki article on whatever you type in?

Then it simply doesn't change it.

My only problem with this, is that the scratch team would have build an entire modification for this, as they can't use the censor system because it doesn't support special characters (like [] /).

How do you know it doesn't support those characters? The Scratch forums use a "hacked" version of FluxBB, so they could easily modify it so that it does support those characters. No offense, but you really shouldn't assume that the Scratch forums are exactly the same as your forums.

Well, I'm not sure "hacked" is the correct term.  tongue  I think they just host their own which makes it more open to coding adjustments and adding modifications.

Never the less, it would still require a modification of a medium sized adjustment in the code.

You just need to add a modification to the parser. Could probably be done in under 15 minutes.

I suppose so. But then they'd have to add censors for all the wiki articles.

How does the Wiki tell us if an article exists? If there's an API...
