I think i fun thing to do after scratch 2.0 is released is have a "Year Long Race to Three" witch is as follows.
The race begins on scratch 2.0 release you can join in at anytime after than and befor 1 year after. The goal is to make to biggest best scratch 3.0 version you can.
The rules are as follows: failure to abide will result in withdraw
-you must build you version is flash
-your version must run on "Drag and Drop" scripting
-you may not sabotage other racers projects
-you may collaborate but only in specified forums and you must say so when entering your project.
-members of the scratch team are allowed to race
-all projects must be entered before 1 year after 2.0 release
-after the 1 year mark scratchers may vote on their favorite one
-the winner of the vote will become scratch 3.0
-the 2 runner ups will be versions 2.3 and 2.4

You need ST support for that

Yes, those are problems. But other problems include:
they may not have the same features. If scratch 2.3 has a feature scratch 2.4 or 3.0 doesn't have, I think we have a problem...
Also, I really don't think the Scratch team wants scratchers making scratch... It may make them seem lazy or something.

i thought it would give the scratch team a chance the creativity and skill we have and if all else fails just dont use it

I probably could if I had enough time.

I don't think so. I think the ST will develop it mostly by themselves, but with Scratcher input of course.

You have to make it in flash?

the reason would be so that the scratch team could use it without to much editing

No. This will not happen. The scratch team are the ones who make scratch that's why they have the authority.

Scratchb3.0 probably won't come out until like I'm guessing 2017. Scratch 2.1 will come after 2.0, kind of like after scath 1.0 came 1.1(I think)
