Here's a screenshot of the program so far! Here!

This is nearly every texture in the game!
top row from left to right: Normal walkway, Bunker, Locked door
Middle: player (he's only 16*16, kind of small)
Bottom: Kony 2012 poster (small chance of appearing because it's a post-apocalyptic, dysfunctional city), Solid pathway (blocker), Key stone (opens locked doors to open up new places)

I now need to probably code a level editor so I don't need to try and custom do every one...

Nice!  big_smile

Just finished the menu  tongue
How about this for a storyline: Doktor Kruger's time machine teleports him to a planet in which two races of robots, the Plasmabots (futuristic) and the Boilertrons (steampunk) are having a war.

The screenshot doesn't show the hard part  tongue  Down n the code, it took my level format (four lines per block, giving details like X, Y, and texture) and displayed them on the screen. Will DEFINITELY be used for UTS.

Re: Scratch Game Jam

I'm done with the title screen. Not any levels though.
Let me give you the overview of my game(so far):

SPOILER ALERT!

-YOU NEED 2 PEOPLE.
-P1 controls George, P2 is Theo
-Arrow Keys to control George, W,A,S,D to control Theo
-George has a motorcycle, Theo has a sword.

btw, there is a surprise in the end that makes it modern.

It's my birthday. Deal with it.

Re: Scratch Game Jam

I've finished planning out the story and i've done two pieces of artwork  smile
the title screen and the ONE WHOLE PICTURE in a "cutscene"-esque thing that starts off the story
It's only one player but there's two playable characters
yikes
The levels alternate between the characters
One's levels are platformers without scrolling! (It'll work  yikes  )
and the other's are Zelda 1 esque only smaller
and you can like level up your swords and stuff to do more damage
but the platformer girl doesn't have a sword so her levels are kinda stealth based
and all the levels are pretty short so it'll fit in 10MB nicely

Re: Scratch Game Jam

Working on the level editor! Here is an early screenshot! My plan is to crowdsource the level to other Scratchers and whoever makes (IMO) the best level will have their level used in the actual game!

What kind of game are you making?

A modern, post-apocalyptic dungeon-crawling platformer. For my game, basically your city has just been nuked (modern and post-apocalyptic) and you must find the keys (platformer-like) and search the destroyed streets ("dungeon" crawler) to make your way to the bunker (winning the game)

Good, now it will be easier.
I had an idea for a modern/steampunk Wizard of Oz type thing.
The main character is the tinman, a trash can or something.  tongue
