Actually, different states (and even different cities) usually have different way of enunciating things. The turning of T sound into D sounds is pretty prevalent in New York City, not so much outside of New York City, for example.

Really? I didn't know that, see how uninformed and generalising I am?

A general image of how foreigners see americans though... sadly  tongue

Generalization is pretty prejudicial when placed upon people. This is why people need to do research and stop generalizing stuff about people from other places (whether it be continent, country, city, neighborhood, etc.)

Back on the subject of accents: when it comes to accents, one can expect to hear a broad range of dialects and phonologies from any country that's relatively large (both in terms of population and area). For example, while people have a generalized idea of what an English accent sounds like, but it's incorrect because it can vary based on specific area - a London accent is different from a Cockney accent, for example.

If you're interested, you might want to do some research on regional phonology and dialects before jumping to conclusions.

Yes.
This.
I have a London-Oxford type accent.

This is a temporary signature. It will exist until I think of something witty.

For my purposes, generalisations are more convenient :3

But I understand how prejudicial generalisations are. I've been generalised as part of a group once, and it's not nice.

But with accents, it's easier to speak a british accent than a manchester accent  tongue

I can do a British accent, but my friend classified it as 'working class'. At least it's good enough to be classified  tongue

I did some voice acting, check my 'Alice and Wonderland Voice Audition' project. It kinda failed there though  tongue

I was made fun of on Friday for how far my forehead protruded from my eyes.

The kid insulting me acted like he was the basis for which life's beauty is judged.
Which he definitely isn't but man he wouldn't shut up.

Like in Brooklyn the ur sounds sound like oy. In Brooklyn church sounds like Choich. The two bad guys in Home Alone 2 have that type of accent i think.
