+1.
If someone's an idiot who doesn't know right from wrong or a 4-year-old child, then yes it could influence them. But that's not the video game's fault; it's the parents fault for not teaching the kid right from wrong or giving a violent video game to a freaking 4-year-old child.

well it's not necessarily 4 year old or people who don't appear mentally stable

i don't think good people exist, so um yeah

No. We don't see people running around killing every Russian that we see now don't we.
It probably does affect some people. But for the majority it doesn't.

I think it mainly affects people who are underage for the game, i.e. 10-year-old playing a M game.

I played M-Rated games when I was 10. I'm a perfectly fine person now.

The trick is to ask the right question!

This may sound unreleated, but it is, actually.
Henry the 8th behaved quite gentlemanly before a jousting accident. After that, a lobe that affected his behaviour was damaged, and made him the king he is today.
So, that means you would have to be bludgeoned by a sharp object while watching/playing that media in order to be aggressive.

Well, it also has to do with how you were brought up. I think violent video games aggravate problems that are already there. For example, a person who grows up with strong morals but plays M games underage will probably be a good person. But a person who grows up around violence and plays M games underage, I think, would probably be a worse person than if they hadn't played the M games.
There are always exceptions, though.

Yep, zombie Henry the 8th.

I read a book once that said something like "No one could be naive enough to think violent media causes people to commit violent actions. However, if someone already inclined to commit violent acts is exposed to these forms of media, it may show them ways to carry it out"
I agree completely.

LOL. Um, isn't that about as relevant as sleep kills you if someone kills you while you sleep?

Yes.

I don't think it always influences violent behavior, but for the few times it does, I think that it is not good to play violent games. I stick to Professor Layton and Pokemon and I'm fourteen.

Using a Calvin and Hobbes scenario can cover alot of situations.
