Nice and mean comments.

People post mean comments.Right? This is how to get rid of horrible comments. If you post mean comments do not continue to read this.My way is to say "Mean" or "never say something." If somebody says something so horrible you feel you want to explode, I do not want to write this, but I have to. Add them to your ignore list. I have nobody on my ignore list though (thank god.)

sincerely,

mac

Re: Nice and mean comments.

Letting somebody know that you find their comment mean is a good approach.  If they continue to make mean comments, you can add them to your ignore list, as you mentioned.  It's also a good idea to click on the "flag as inappropriate" button below mean comments.  That sends a message to the Scratch Team so they can talk to them about the Community Guidelines.

Re: Nice and mean comments.

if it was removed, it may have been that the user deleted it or requested for it to be deleted (because of a typo or something). it probably wasn't flagged.

I couldn't really care less about rude comments, as long as they don't swear.

Re: Nice and mean comments.

Depends on one's definition of "rude". I find "Hey, you! Your gravity is waaaaaaay off and is takes FOREVERNDEVERANDEVERANDEVERANDEVER to load, NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!" sorta helpful: I know I should patch up the gravity and maybe get shorter music.  smile

A forum is somewhere where people can go to talk to each other through the Internet. It's different from a chatroom though.

Re: Nice and mean comments.

I find that when I get nasty project comments, I reply cheerfully, thanking them for their input and perhaps saying I will take their suggestion to heart when I do an update. It frustrates them without letting them get to you, which discourages them from doing it in the first place and also makes me feel a little better  wink . Any subsequent rude comments by that person I ignore or delete, though.

I was going to give an example but I can't find it  tongue

Hey! This has nothing to do with this forum but I had no idea where else to contact you. I found a project where somn saved all the ( sprites, scripts, backrounds, etc.), changed the name and published it without giving credit. In the remixing and copyind section of the Scratch FAQ it says that I am allowed to flag a project that someone copied. So I flagged it and got this message:

We encourage remixing in the Scratch community, since we have seen how remixing can lead to creative, interesting projects. The website includes a "Based on..." link to give credit to the original author -- and we hope that remixers will also give credit in their Project Notes. Overall, we want the Scratch community to be full of creative activity and exciting projects, and remixing helps with that.

What the heck? I'm allowed to flag it!

Ps: The oringinal project is Pop! by trinary  and the copied project was by eamclaren and the title was Pop! (Workshop)

Ps: read the comment on the real version by turkey3.

I just be sarcastic. Example: Somebody: I hate your project. Me: thanks!

They just want to get you angry.

That is a paradox.  Because you are posting on a forum that you never post on forums.
