Im thinking of making an RPG Assister thing, for RPG's. (like the full-blown D&D-type, roll-the-dice-to-see-your-damage-not-to-mention-the-orc-has-+1-from-the-enchanted-sword-in-attack kind of thing. Not like in the RPG section in the TBG forums.)
This would include:
(what I have planned so far)
Dice roller:
Rolls random dice. D4 D6 D8 D10 D12 D20 D100 .
MapMaker: So the GM can easily creat maps and things. Pretty much just a gridded area thing that you can put stuff on.
NoteTaker: pretty much would just be a list-variable that you can add stuff to.
CoinFlip:
Flips a coin. Heads or tails.
So what I really want to know is:
•Would you USE this? How many full-blown nerds are out there, other than me?
•Any App suggestions?
•Lol, any dice I am missing?
•what do you think of this idea?
kthxbai:)
(thanks Luke121 for the die list)
(Thank elfin8er for the Coin Flipping App idea!)

Equally balanced 3-sided objects would be impossible. The least that is possible is a 4. Glad I could be of service.

Could I help? I have several ideas. Also, I would probably use this all the time. Here are my ideas.
1. This is going to be outside of scratch, right? It should be web based, with maybe a mobile version.
2. You should make your own rules, with some campaigns in case people want to start out with pen and paper rpgs, but don't want to spend a ton of money just to see if they like it.
3. You should have a coin flipper. I've come across times where people must flip a coin.
4. It would be a challenge, but how about some kind of feature that allows people to make, and submit their own rules, and campaigns.
I hope we're on the same page here, and this wont be too hard to make

1. With scratch. Web based? Jog my memory? Google's got an awful handy app creator for Android which is frighteningly scratch-like, if not slightly more complex. I could use that to make an app if my teachers stop giving me so much homework, I hardly have time to do anything now-a-days.
2. As in make my own RPG and let others play it? Already planning that. Got an awesome (free) RPG making guide thing for my Kindle. Already got some good ideas.
3. Aha! TYVM kind sir, I will add that.
4. Like through the app/scratch thing, or a website where everyone posts they're own rules for everyone else? some sort of share-your-own-campaign thing?
I'm glad you would use it
(when you say "can I help" does that mean "here's some ideas, what do you think?' or "we should co-lab!"? I'm totally fine w/ both.

Either would be cool. If you want me to do something, I can see what I can do.

Hmmmm... IDK.
How good are you with, say, C++? haha...
Horrible. I can mostly only do HTML, and I'm learning PHP, but not very good You could also make this in scratch, and then just embed different tools into a website.

Same, except for the PHP.
"embed" part I get, but different tools? Could you explain more plz?

When I said tools, I meant like the dice rollers, coin flipper, ect.
Maybe we could also have a player sheet, where the GM can make a template, and then it can store multiple players.

Good idea!
If only we had better programming skillz, we could become so rich off of this!
Should it be one big project with a menu to different tools, or seperate projects?

Hmm. I was thinking of having different projects, but that could take up room. I don't know.

Doing some reasearch, i noticed theres not very many dice rollers, and the ones the DO exist or only D6s, and the ones with all/most of the die are confusing, innacurate, and/or have bad graphics.

Room? If its on a separate site then we've got unlimited right?
Speaking of which, what would we be using to make the sight?

I meant room on a webpage. Projects are big (Dimensions), so the "Tools" page would be pretty long, and could be hard to find what the user is looking for. As for what we would use to make the site, I would suggest using 000webhost.com along with dot.tk

Oh, I see what you mean.
That could be a problem. We could set up tabs to organize them? like "GM tools" and things.
Ill take a look at those...
