I got Half Life 2. AND I CAN'T PLAYIT ON THE DARNNED XBOX. So... TO THE STEAM-MOBILE! DANANANANANANANA
Rise and shine, Weegee, rise and shine. Not that I wish to imply that you've been sleeping on the job. No one is more deserving of a rest. And all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until... well, lets say school has come again. The right programmer in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So wake up, Weegeeissparta. Wake up and smell the waffles.
IF I DON'T HEAR THAT WHEN SCHOOL STARTS AGAIN THEN I WILL DIE.
In other news,
EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY!

I got past that part. I respawned facing backwards so I didn't even go where I was suposed to. So for about 6 days I was screaming at the computer. Then I turned back.
I'm also scared of the zombies coming out of nowhere. Last time that happened I nearly had a heart attack. Not that I have a heart. I have a curcuit board. Cause I'm a CPU. Loaded into a sphere. With a yellow eye. THAT'S RIGHT GENTLEMENTLEGEN, I'M THE SPACE CORE.
I think if you stand long enough in Ravenholm, you can hear screams, breathing, voices, and crying. One of them even sounded like a kid. THAT, is creepy. If a mini zombie apocolypse happened there, they survived. CREEPY, like the Rattmann ramblings of Portal 2.
Furthermore, If one stands long enough near the building where the player meets Father Grigori, one can here a distant roar of a Fast Zombie.
I hate how you never have an idea where you're going.

GAAAAAWWWW!
Whenever I set a zombie on fire it makes me want to give it some icing.
AND THEN A SHOTGUN BLAST TO THE FACE.

You guys need to give Half-Life 1 and Opposing Force a go. Far superior games, I find.
See, Half-Life 2 is okay. But a lot of the time it overstays its welcome, and feels padded. Almost every section just feels like there's a gimmick that just goes on too long. Especially Sandtraps. Then they move on to another gimmick that feels pretty much out of place and too long, like freekin' Sandtraps, driving segments, whatever. And that's the game.
But Half-Life 1 is truly the master of pacing. Nothing overstays its welcome because Half-Life 1 forces nothing upon you. You're just some guy who showed up for the first day at work and guess what? Some scientists screwed something up and you're in some kind of disaster. It seamlessly transitions from survival horror, to a story about covering a conspiracy, to subduing an all-out alien invasion.
And all this was done without them forcing any details on you. If you want, you could ignore all the subtleties and do whatever you want with the game - or you could pay attention to the, uh, people watching you, the enemy chatter, and other small details. This created a deeper story that was told entirely through gameplay - something HL2 doesn't do nearly as well. You learned the story as you played, not when you're trapped in some room with Alyx or whatever.
Anyway, go play the original. To this day, despite the age, it's still fantastic, and personally I think it's way better than 2, despite how good 2 is.

Nah, Gmod is better. I'm obsessed with sandbox games.
Anyway, I LOVE the metrocop sound that says "SHEEP!"
I LOL'D first time I heard it.

Apparently, the first Half-Life is scripted to play music off of whatever disc is in your computer.
Someone had the Lilo & Stitch OST, and there's a part in the game where a scientist got eaten by a sea monster thing and the game started playing the song where they sing about the ocean in the hula. X"D

I had a dream that I was a citzen one. I CLEARLY remember it.
I kicked one in the face during an apartment raid and I took his gun. Then somehow I wound up at Kleiners Lab. AND THERE WAS A RAVE PARTY.
THEN I wound up slapping a fast zombie in ravenholm.
Then I woke up.
With this song repeating in my head.

Saves are stored locally, in addition to the Steam Cloud. So unless you deleted your save files stored in the Half-Life save directory, located at, I believe, at C:/program files/steam/steamapps/[steamusername]/half life 2/hl2/SAVE, or something along the lines, I don't think they'd just be gone. Steam can't just "break" your locally stored save files. More likely the game's just having trouble reading them, so you should probably check there for the files. I remember a while back it couldn't find my save files, so I just moved them around and back to the folder and they worked again. Otherwise, you probably accidentally deleted those files, and there's nothing to be done about that.

Oh, I just deleted STEAM. The app.
But it still wont re-download.
THX for telling me.
Oh, when I try to run it, it says
Steam.exe(main exception): To run Steam, you must first connect to the internet.

Oh, I'm sorry. Misunderstood. So you completely reinstalled Steam, using the installer from the website?
In that case, you might have a firewall running, blocking Steam's access to the internet. If you do, try putting Steam on its whitelist.
If that's not it, you might try deleting the clientregistry.blob file in C:/program files/steam. Nothing bad will happen if you delete it, it's just register data, and restores some settings (so, if I remember correctly, you'll need to remember your password) and it recreates the file when you start up Steam next. This fixes problems with Steam around 95% of the time. Probably exaggerating there, but whatever.
After that the only thing I can recommend is, of course, to just try the reinstall again after deleting all the contents of the Steam folder in Program Files.
You probably should have backed up your games from the steamapps folder before you uninstalled Steam. Next time, in case you need to, remember to do that.
Hope that helps. If not, some dirty digging on Google is your friend.
And remember, Half Life 1 is also your friend.

I'm an idiot with software, so I have no idea if I have a firewall or not.

So deleting ClientRegistry.blob didn't do anything? It's just the same error? Huh.
Well, now all I can say is a.)try a restart of the computer, and b.) delete everything and try the reinstall again.
Other than that, I'm guessing your gonna have to look around Google and Steam Forums for an answer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
