So, there seems to be a new trend on Scratch. Whenever someone asks about something non-scratch related, someone posts a LMGTFY (let me google that for you) link instead of actually helping. If you wanted to google it in the first place you would.
Its really annoying.
I want it to stop.
It is unhelpful and it really cheeses me off (sorry, I had to throw a SPM:T-YD reference in there).

most things could be easily found with a quick google though
like questions like who is james buchanan
if you want to spam up the forums then that's your problem

Asking things is not spam.
And someone could cite a googled source instead of LMGTFY.

It lets people get a variety of answers. Instead of "Oh i don't know."
If you dont know, you shouldnt be awnsering.

Even if this did happen, it would still be possible to LMGTFY someone, even through a link on Dropbox.
I removed the URL. I'll put it back up when I get the redirect to work.
Edit: Doesn't Work.

How about politely asking the Scratchers who are posting LMGTFY links to stop?

I agree, posting one of those links is almost spam.

but like
people only post it when it's like a really obvious question
it's not spam
it's just a reminder

WELL.
i will use the enter key instead of punctuation as well
it is spam
they can just say the awnser
and the other person can google it.
you dont need one of those stupid links
and frankly its much safer to get just information than google it
what if the website has a virus, huh?

I don't find it annoying.

Plus we have the freedom of speech to make trends and google things, plus google is a helpful thing why ban it? It'd only cause more pain for Scratchers without it.

Reminds me of that "Oh yeah, tell me to Google something which we both don't know and act like I'm the stupid one" feeling I get whenever someone does that to me. You could say "I found this with a Google search [link]" instead of being unhelpful, but people seem to think that you're really thick because you haven't Googled it, they don't know that maybe you did, and you were relying on knowledge via humans rather than that of a search engine's.

I half support. If they are googling it for them, as long as they tell them what it means, then it's fine with me...
