How can somebody be a SDS moderator or whatever it's called like Steve?

SDS curators are picked by the Scratch Team, like godmod said, and are assisted by current SDS curators. Usually, when we need more of them, the scratch team and us will look for a couple possible Curators and then narrow them down.
It's a tough job to get, perhaps harder than a regular curator, as we can serve as long as we like.
