Of Mice and Men

It's a classic book by John Steinbeck.  Have you read it?  What did you think of it?  I really enjoyed it.

If you're going to give spoilers, please use invisible text and include a note that there is one (don't color transparent, since it doesn't work in IE).  Also, please don't quote people who wrote spoilers (since it will become visible).

Re: Of Mice and Men

I've only read a summary, from what I could glean (I was in like 4th grade) Lenny is a really depressing character.

Re: Of Mice and Men

I recognise that line from the Robert Burns poem, "To a Mouse". Is it related?

I don't think so.   hmm

OK, even good books get boring after that many times.  I feel sorry for you.   sad

Yeah, you could say that.   tongue

Actually, it is. Steinbeck changed the title from Something That Happened to Of Mice and Men after reading the poem.

I just had to read it over winter break for my English class. The ending was sad, but it really had to happen.

Very true.  I knew something like that was bound to happen.   sad

Re: Of Mice and Men

I've never read it, but my brother had to make a movie based on the book for school.
