hmm... What are the chances that it would be capable of running a minecraft server? I'm sure my parents would be glad to kick the CPU and RAM usage off our main desktop... With Linux, it would run Java, so it would only be a matter of the RAM and CPU strength, neither of which I would have much hope for on a 35 dollar computer. (Although honestly that isn't far from the cost to make many computers today...)

I. Am. SO. Going. To. Get. One. Of. Those.
I can't wait until it comes out!

I'll either get one on my birthday in June or I'll buy it with my own money earlier.

I want one, except the I don't think they are releasing to where I live anytime soon.
But if they did...
I'd probably install lubuntu on it.

Goodbye, Scratch. I am leaving because of the exams coming up at our school, though I'll check the forums once or twice a week.

What, no love for Fedora, people?  sad  It's the freaking bundled OS!  tongue

Anyway, I asked for this for my birthday, which is next Monday  big_smile
I could easily buy one with my own money, but...this was easier.  tongue

Not really a fan of Fedora  tongue
I don't really like the package system on there and it's high memory usage

Bump! The RPi is ready to preorder at Premier Farnell and RS Componentsbig_smile  They are both UK-based though, so if you live outside the UK and surrounding area, wait for stock to get elsewhere if you don't want to pay up the nose for shipping.

Also, the Model A has been updated to have 256MB of RAM now, so if you don't need Ethernet or more than one USB port, spring for that.

I got my dad to buy one- he's interested too and I was at school and I didn't want the stock to run out because it's in high demand.

It'll arrive around April.

I AM SO EXCITED

Naww but often you have to pay shipping (Extra $$$) and you have to wait for a while. Or you can wait a long time and pay less shipping. Mine will arrive sometime in April :>

You can get them anywhere, but shipping costs will probably be more than the RPi itself unless you go with the 50 day shipping like Dinoclor.

IDK, my dad bought it. Also, even though we're in the same timezone, you're in another country. So it's going to differ.

Er... I forgot that this isn't Misc anymore, and I rarely go on RaP.  tongue

But you can MAKE the RPi do whatever you want, and into whatever you have always wanted to CREATE. Lets roll with that. xD
