Why do Scratchers like 1s1s's so much?

Well, for one, they're really cool, and it's interesting to see how users do it.

First, the are described differently on the site. Compare two of my projects:
Download the 118 sprites and 279 scripts of "Forum Tower Defense"
vs
Download the one sprite and one script of "Super Mario Brothers…"
Notice the lack of digits.
Secondly, it is an interesting challenge. I made one just to see what I could do with that limitation.

It's just a great way to learn Scratch. I learnt so much when I made my 1s1s Car Racer, which I maybe wouldn't know to this day if I hadn't made that.

They only have 1 script.
That about sums it up.

I find it fascinating that people only need to use one script and one sprite to make an entire game! It's very interesting to see how it's done, because depending on the game type, it could be done many different ways.

1 sprite, 1 script.
It's the art of compressing and optimization.

It usually shows a great deal of skill in programming to use one script to create an entire game. This usually forces you to use higher-level concepts in your script, so it's more educational to make and further educates people who look at the script.

It's fun to see what people come up with-- try searching "1s1s" in the search bar to see some 1s1s projects.
Or check out my gallery, which has some.
