Fine  hmm

But question, there can be male and female (not at the same time). You can put veggy up as the male vocalist. Also, sometime you should do a duet!!!!!!!!!! Those are fun...

(Also, recording right now, i am sick (Moms says i am, i don't feel sick...) so i am staying home from Church!)

Re: Frozen Coco - The Online Rock Band

OK, I'm also sick and I have a very bad cough and sore throat...  sad

My parents want me to stay away from the computer because of my cough, so I'm getting on here while they're not looking.

So, the redone piano for Gone and the piano for Reload will have to wait a while.

Really? I thought hpotter134, you and I all agreed upon bass voices and harmonies for Gone and Reload.  hmm

DIY, one of the cool things about making music, is that it's really flexible. You can throw in bits and pieces, take out bits and pieces, and experiment. So nothing is set in stone until the song is actually released, and even then you can change stuff if you want. So anything that's been "agreed upon" is easily subject to change. Just keep that in mind.

I'm currently swamped with schoolwork, but I have next week off of school. If I don't find time this week, I'll definitely be able to record next week.

I've been looking back at some of my old noteflight junk, and found a song that we were considering a while back...and it's been stuck in my head  smile  Now that we have a real pianist, do you want to try and record it (after Gone and Reload and stuff)? It seems to fit with the style of our first couple songs...I think it would be nice as another cover.

I understand, but I just thought it would suit male voices. I was merely suggesting your idea of rotating the singing between the three of us.

Hope to see your recordings latest by next week.  smile

EDIT: And you may want to change the permissions of that score so that we can actually view it.  tongue

Yeah, that's what I was saying. We don't have a song that would suit a duet, although I have tonnes of tunes with me which I can easily adapt into duets. Like I've mentioned in the post prior to this, techno, hpotter and I can rotate the male singing.

Will your voice be OK enough to record now like you said?  neutral  I mean, you are sick, right?  tongue

Re: Frozen Coco - The Online Rock Band

Techno, I managed to mix 'When I'm Beside You'. The result... well, a very clean master tracktongue

Since the piano tracks you gave me were an absolute pain to mix, I decided upon recording it on my own using an organ, since I am an experienced pianist myself (like in 'Lazy Sunday Jam'). I gave it a more pipe organ touch, which sounds flawless, unlike the previous one.

I still have some work to do on 'My Voice to You' since the recorded tracks you sent me don't quite play too well in sync, as can be seen in your original mix. My ultimate aim is to make this mix's sound quality superior and for the tracks to play in sync. I will try and see what I can do with it.

nice mix diy! the only thing that's weird with it is the organ sounds kind of off because it has no natural reverb  hmm

Thanks. The organ was played as a sus. pipe organ really, so there is a hint of reverb. I can increase the reverb in the mix if the members of the band and I agree. With vocals, it should sound great.

I think the "rounded" and "breathy" timbre of an organ doesn't really suit the style and theme of this piece. The piano is a bit more "brighter" and has more sharper tone, IMO.

Also, the organ does have very little reverb, and it sounds dry and choppy.  hmm

That's sort of what I was saying on the Soundcloud page, piano sounds "brighter".

Re: Frozen Coco - The Online Rock Band

@ jslomba: I know, I know, geez... I just need your parts recorded quickly so I can start mixing Gone and Reload.

@ All: I just listened to the Noteflight score of WIBY and again, it sounded very much like the piano I did. That was my aim, to match the sound. If it sounds good on that, this should sound good, I would think. Also, My Voice to You is almost mixed!  big_smile

Fellow band members, I need your take on this.

@ a1130: A sus. pipe organ is in many ways similar to a piano on sus. pedal. The only reason I didn't play it on piano was because this sounded much better this way (you won't believe the difference you get on keys!  tongue ). I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't good. Plus, the previous piano track was indeed hard to mix.

@ jji7skyline: Thanks for the offer, but I already have Garageband, but I should be able to add reverb if needed in Reaper, which is like adding cherry to the top of a cake really!  tongue

Your offer is appreciated!  smile

It is nice this way. With the piano, it just sounded... odd...

Err... It's Audacity...

I'd suggest something professional like FL Studio, but since you aren't maybe too serious about music, I'd suggest a free software. You could also try Reaper. Why do you need an audio program?

@ techno: That's fine. At least you've sent me your parts. I'll get down to recording bass for Reload.

Audacity works really well for recording. Besides an audio program, what else would she use?

I know, but she could just use Sound Recorder, it makes more sense. She won't have to export the clip as a .wav file then.
