Re: Frozen Coco - The Online Rock Band

Hi , Frozen Coco,
This is chongyian from Elite, a new Scratch Collaboration. Would you like to pass us a few pieces of your wonderful music? It might be your chance to get famous! So, what are we going to do? We are currently working on an operating system with a music app store. From the app store, we can download music if you have enough credits. However, our leader, Ztype, mentioned that it was better if we used music from Scratch Bands. I would like to thank you in advance on behalf of "Elite: Exclusive Games" in advance. You will also be notified when our project is released.
       Yours faithfully,
chongyian

I'm sorry, but after a major miscommunication by the Scratch Team, we have decided not to release our songs on Scratch, whether it be on our band account or on an operating system. It would not make sense to release it elsewhere if our latest releases our never going up on the Scratch account again. Plus we are already quite well-known across other websites (which have a much greater fan base than here). We no longer really consider ourselves a 'Scratch band'. Thanks for the offer though.

Well, it's been a heck of a long time since the last post here. I've been working very hard on our upcoming releases and some other commitments with various bands online, and in real life. As you can see above (click image), I am juggling my solo career too; hours spent on what would become my solo debut single has led to an upbeat rock number, with plenty of lead guitar licks and a rather raucous vocal track. "Rock Nomad" is, at its essence, any hard rock musician's typical rock song... not that I would classify myself as entirely a rock composer anyway.

Stay tuned for two brand new Frozen Coco singles releasing on 12.12.12, coinciding with a great comeback project from Yavin (me, DIY) on Scratch, i.e. Quiet, the sequel to Alone! The singles are a double release as was with the previous records and the titles have exclusively been revealed as of today: The A track will be titled Light Amidst the Fog while its B side counterpart will be entitled If We Never See the Light. Both are predominantly piano songs although only the latter can be classified as a piano ballad due to its fairly intricate style.

For now, hope you all enjoy my solo single and hope you guys are anticipating Frozen Coco's next singles releasing in twelve days time as much as I am! Please excuse sloppiness in any department since it was mixed and recorded within a very limited period despite the countless hours spent on it; it is also a completely home produced single.

~Yavin

Haha, yes, Light Amidst the Fog and If We Never See the Light promise to be good singles. Glad to see someone else (apart from myself) is also anticipating their release.  smile  I hope the other band members are just as excited. As Bas said, the mixing process is going great so far!  big_smile

Frozen Coco is indeed alive so expect some great stuff from the band during the course of the next few weeks!

You can get 128kbps mp3s by poking around the source of the Bandcamp page.

"Light Amidst the Fog" was alright, and I really liked the piano on it. It did seem a little off-beat, but nothing too bad. The vocals are also a bit loud in the first half, too.

I really, really like the music for the second song, "If We Never See the Light". I wish I could hear the vocals though.  hmm

Also, what happened to the other band members? Or is it just DIY and techno now?

We couldn't seem to contact hpotter during the recording process of the singles, and jslomba couldn't record due to construction work at his home.

Re: Frozen Coco - The Online Rock Band

^Exactly, we didn't receive any replies regarding these two singles, so it was up to techno and I to go ahead and record ourselves if we didn't want the band to appear dead.

I've been playing around on the piano and I came up with a pretty good song, I'll record it when I get a chance.

Re: Frozen Coco - The Online Rock Band

My second solo single is out now!

http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j377/DIYmit/GoldRingers_zps748c9b9d.png

To all, I give you my second solo single! ‘Gold Ringers’ is a country number I wrote back a couple of years ago and the structure has changed quite a bit (as is with most of my old song ideas). It has transformed from the originally intended folk song it was to my first recorded country song. Even the instrument solo on this track was initially played to the style of folk guitar but was later changed to piano. All the instrument parts are played entirely by me in this solo venture. Enjoy!

Bas, can you come on Google Chat? Luke's there too at the moment and I pushed him for a heck of a lot of progress on the drum tracks.
