I don't like the and smilies
They look patronizing IMO

I prefer the original versions...
They're darker and richer in flavor.

Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet...*describes big humongous lunch* and then a spider sat down beside her and shot her in the bowel with a crossbow.

Which is why they're not allowed in schools, because of kids. In the UK, schools normally contain kids, and kids are pretty easy to scare (and the ones that aren't won't understand that it disturbs the rest), dunno about the US though.

Yeah, most the time it's because whenever someone gives you help they always put a smiley in, I know it's meant to be kind and such but it makes me feel like they're trying to assert their intelligence over my own.

You mean to say that in your primary school they showed you 18+ films?
They probably banned it in schools, they're not going to behead every parent who tells their child a scary story.

has anyone read the original Grimm's fairy tales?
Yes. They aren't that bad though.
I advise everyone to call their younger siblings and play them this video and explain everything he says.
I did that.

I see what you did there...
ANYWAY
The originals are better, mostly because the ones we have now are all sugared down.
I WANT THEM COFFEE'D DOWN

For the record, "fairy tale endings" tend to involve gruesome pain, injury, and death.

I uh, found this thing called The Father Who Wanted To Marry His Daugher. It was too long to finish reading but it was extremely disturbing. Also found the entire Grimm collection.

I just read The Juniper Tree. Very disturbing...

Ring around the rosy is really scary. Here's why:
Freakish wrote:
"Ring around the rosy The rosy is the back of your hand. The great plague caused a ring around the rosy.
A pocketful of posies Posies were things used to get the smell of dead bodies out of the room
"Ashes, Ashes" Bodies burning.
We all fall down!" They all died.

And to think I innocently played that as a little kid.

Actually Freakish, I'm pretty sure ring around the rosy is referring to the red ring you get around your neck
And they thought a pocket of posies/herbs would cure the disease (it didn't)
"Ashes" meant the cremated bodies, or in the British version, "Atishoo" (violent sneezing)
We all fall down - uh yeah
When I was a young n00b I though the song was about Pokemon
"Ashes"

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. Eww egg guts! Should it really be for kids?
And the witch from Hansel and Gretl is a cannibal
And the pig in Three Little Pigs cooked the wolf and ate him

There's a collection of Grimm's fairy tales in the grade 4 room at school
