Well it seems to be working with your status. You're online to me so something must be fine. On The other hand, There seems to be nothing wrong with your syntax for newest project. Let me copy it exactly and then just change your name for mine...
I'll try yours without a capital S too, just in case:

Maybe if they've been banned before...just an idea, probably incorrect.

Go to the URL
http://scratch.mit.edu/api/authenticateuser?username=Squawkers13&password=PASSWORD
,replacing PASSWORD with your password. The page should display something. For me, it displays 183006:sparks:unblocked which is my user ID, user name and status. If I type the wrong password it shows the text 'false'.
If you tell us what it says for you we can get an idea as to what the API is doing with your username, though be careful not to post your password here!
