In English, we have been learning about the use of rhetorical devices in persuasive writing. For homework, we had to read Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech and answer questions about it. Then, after discussing it in class, we got the assignment of either 1) writing a short speech/paragraph/manifesto about a topic that is important to us or 2) drawing a picture-- and knowing my own artistic abilities, I tuned out after that. Here's what I have so far:
We Are Not to Be Trifled With
Times have changed. No longer are we so ill-informed as to fall victim to the suffocating toxin of ignorance. No longer are we so inept as to stumble down the poorly-lit staircase of blindness. No longer are we so week as to let our natural rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness be trampled upon by the tentacles of injustice. It has been brought to my attention that many people are unaware of the issue that I’m addressing today. Though, could an issue so inhumane really be spoken of as a mere issue? Is the knowledge that humans are being abducted and dissected by intergalactic beings really a piece of knowledge that any of us could live with? Of course not. We shall stand, we shall fight, we shall prevail against the beings that invade our homes on a nightly basis, stealing our children and cattle without permission. For it is not that I disagree with intergalactic harmony, but I think it be a fair warning that if another human, of whatever subcategory, is chopped up on a laboratory table after being injected with substances we don’t even know exist for purposes of which we may not even agree, then I promise: whoever does such shall be obliterated by the net force of seven-billion pounding fists, of seven-billion chanting voices, and approximately twenty-thousand nuclear missiles.

Also
Unless we all only use one of our hands, or have one arm apiece, it should be fourteen billion fists
Plus we've got better technology than fists

I don't think people normally pound the air with two fists Also, I wanted to call attention to the 20,000 nuclear missiles by starting with anaphora, then suddenly b-b-breaking the combo.
