Why does the forums say when the Scratcher/New Scratcher has last edited the post? I just don't understand. 
when gf clicked think [I wonder why the last edited time is posted...]

Because that's how the forum software works. I also think it's kind of nice to see when/if a post was changed, so then you can see if something was quoted and then edited out.

It's part of the forum software they use.

Pretty much this, I expect. It's provides a clue when you see a quote that doesn't agree with the original post. If the original post was edited, then it's likely that it's not a case of deliberate miss-quoting.

It also lets you know if it was originally inappropiate/offensive and a mod had to edit it.
