Yup! But post counts don't really matter *that* much, do they?
It is just a number on a screen.

the reason people spam is not to increment their post count, but to get traffic to whatever site/thread/project they're advertising. Honestly, this is kinda pointless. it's replacing a number that spammers don't even care about. So please tell me, what this hopes to achieve?

I disagree; a lot of the spam I've seen in my days on Scratch, especially in off-topic sections, has been to get to specific milestones of posts, generally of thousands (1000, 2000, 5000, etc.)
Combining this with the removal of Miscellaneous has pretty much completely removed this type of spam.

people are gonna look at their own post count and still say that. and to prove it they'll use screenshots.

It takes a lot more effort now... back then people were more likely to just notice it whereas now they have to actively keep track. Also, with the removal of Miscellaneous, there's nowhere for them to talk about it.

All this does is create accolades for spammers. Seriously.

Taking down the entire site would eliminate ALL spam. Let's do it! With the removal of Misc (R.I.P. good ol' days) there's no place to post about your post count. Hence, there is no longer a way to post about it without breaking the rules anyway. So basically, this is the same as first saying 'you are not allowed to post in violet' and then later 'you are not allowed to post in a color on the far end of the visible color spectrum that is not red'.

Could you possibly explain what you don't like about this?
And before anyone blurts out saying he necroposted, it is relevant to the topic
