Now, back on topic.  I'm a big fan of Rock.  I like a bunch of groups in all kinds of sub-categories (I'm a musical omnivore).  Some of my favorites (in no particular order):

The Cars
Depeche Mode
Beatles
Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin
Steely Dan
The Killers
Alice in Chains
Yes
Beach Boys
Nirvana
Coldplay
Green Day
REM
Jack White / White Stripes / Raconteurs

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just making sure, but REM were the ones who influenced alt-rock, right?

REM did have a big influence on alternative and college rock, although Pixies arguably had more influence.

Haven't heard it... I'm not all too fond of compilations in general. I like the completeness of albums.

Awesome!

EDIT - I just looked up the album. According to Wikipedia, it's coming out on April 2nd, if you're talking about the album Weapons. It says that April 15th is when an extensive UK tour from the Lostprophets will start.

Radiohead
The Clash
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
At the-Drive In
