Just got two grandchildren started with Scratch. So far, so good. I will be introducing new topics to them each week, trying to stay just ahead of them a bit. We are doing this all long-distance, and I want to add the others later.

Hi!
I'm a Media Specialist at a K-8 school and would like to use Scratch with some classes. I don't know anything about Scratch but want to learn so that I can introduce it properly to my students. I was a programmer back in the 70's (yikes!) so I think I will be able to learn it fairly quickly but, if anyone has ideas to use with a variety of grade levels in introducing Scratch, I would love to hear them.
Thanks!
Well welcome pnoon! It's great to hear that you're trying to teach K-8th graders about Scratch because it can be a really nice and fun experience. Since you're asking about how to introduce Scratch to everyone, you could always try showing off a few interesting projects made in Scratch to capture there attention. Then after that, you could give a little introduction into Scratch, and maybe a deeper one afterwards for people who're really interested. Past that, it's more or less a matter of preference what you do. You could create a club where people talk about Scratch, or give a weekly challenge, or maybe even feature a nice project from your school every once in awhile. These are just some ideas that you could use. These are just some ideas out of the many that there are. ;)

P.S. Good luck!
