I have decided to make an indie game designed to have a freakishly surreal feel to it. It will be in black and white, probably a sidescroller but it MIGHT be 3d, and most likely made in JavaScript. You play as a six-year-old boy who is in a bad car accident and goes into a coma. He dreams up a wonderfully whimsical world full of butterflies and puppies, as well as several children like him who he becomes friends with. Daniella is the reflection of his good side, Jacob of his bad. Ollie is the patient with cancer in the room across from the boy. The kindly old woman living in the quaint little log cabin up on the hill represents the nurse caring for him, the man that lives in the mansion in the meadow who is constantly whipping the children is his abusive father, and the sparrow that helps guide him along his journeys is his dead mother. As you progress through the game, the world becomes more and more twisted because, as you will find out, the boy is dying. The sunny fields become dark and scary and the little puppy that follows you around becomes a shadowy, deformed figure. The other little children become lifeless and sit there like statues, and your mother disappears. The butterflies and kittens are replaced by giant spiders and terrifying monsters. Then, another little boy who refuses to tell you his name shows up and begins helping you fight off the monsters and restore order. Right before you wake, the boy tells you his name: Jesus.
I'll be posting screenshots and progress regularly (as soon as I lose then "new scratcher" status and can edit posts that is), so stay tuned!
Woah, fantastic idea.

Sounds great! Make it 3D!
I think this would have a more ambient atmosphere in 2d.

Nah, just kidding, sounds good.
Actually, I was inspired by limbo And as for progress, I'd update but new scratchers can't edit posts

That storyline sounds sad and creepy as hell D: But it does have lots of potential, good luck.

Wow, sounds very interesting! Darkly surreal with just a hint of light.
