Nope, all bans are permenant unless proven innocent, apologizing doesn't make you innocent, it just means you know what you did wrong. Let this be remembered to anyone who thinks they have the right to argue with mods and admins because they disagree with the rules.
Wow...that's a pretty hard line! I wonder how it would be if we adopted that policy on Scratch? It would be a lot quieter around here, that's for sure

Well er, no offence, but that hasn't really got the stress on moderation too low, people can just apologize then come back to be banned at some point again. And MC is a bit different, if you unban a griefer they will grief again, same with most other people, it's more to do with your personality.
And I was thinking over the whole "don't build in the jungle" rule, the jungle is big and can be shared, but this project is going to be quite big, so the other side of the jungle will be untouched by it, so build there instead if you want a jungle house.

I will simply state my disgust with your statement:
'Once a griefer, always a griefer'.
I will be happy to inform you, that I almost coughed up my lung when I saw that statement. Are you saying that people can't change? Are you stating, that given a chance to redeem themselves, everyone will act the way they chose to in the first place, rather than proving they have changed? I, myself happen to find this way of thinking appalling. The only reason for people to do that, is, if in fact, they haven't been given a chance to redeem themselves in the first place.
Other than that, Scratchia seems like it's gotten some of it's original feel back.

I didn't even realize I was griefing ._.
Can I please get a second chance?

Well, the jungle houses were a project by me and my friend who I know in real life, seeming the old map wouldn't work amazingly well in 1.2 I decided to use this map as it was quite nice, although I was quite paranoid about my work being lost I decided to take the chance anyway. Just don't ruin our project, if you want to help then you'll need Skype and you'll have to ask me first.

Cool, thanks for unbanning me.

Exactly. When I was a newbie on mc and found what I thought was a dungeon (it was qaz's trap) I destroyed the spawner.
But people can also learn from their mistakes. What seems to be griefing to one person might just be a mistake that will never happen again.

Well by the way he was talking to me that didn't seem the case.
That wasn't my point - what disgusted me by the statement, was the fact you were putting a stereotype on people - if you unban a person who was once a griefer, however apologises and has learnt there lesson, then leaving them in a perm ban is a dis-honorable thing to do.

Saying "I'm sorry, unban me" is like saying "Are you an idiot? If you are, unban me so I can grief a bit more", there's not many ways to tell a griefer who wants to join again so he can grief a bit more and someone who has actually learnt a lesson and won't do it again. Seeming we will have a net loss letting in griefers I've decided that 90% of bans will be permenant.

Yes, but how about if they post exactly what they did wrong as well as an apology in a 3 paragraph post?

Or, I just keep them banned and not worry about it, people will feel more free to break the rules if they know they're just going to be let back in.
And now I feel like brutally murdering everyone in the world....

Well it's true, if people think of this server as something which can be used to annoy people then get away with it after then the quality of play will drop. "Sorry I burnt down half the city and blew up stone buildings, I promise it won't happen again" is the type of thing I don't like, if you don't want to be banned then you should read the rules and stick to them, as everyone's treated the same, that they've all read the rules.

and yet:
~ Anger management
~ Hypocritical admins
~ Hackers
[Anger management = Oh, yeah, I used to have anger management problems, but I have had counselling and am all better! ]

What if you let them back after they apologize and say what they did wrong, but perm-ban them if they do it a second time?

First warning=temp ban or permenant ban.
Second warning=permenant.
Also, here's what the spawn looks like:

We need to build a community farm somewhere.
Also, I would like to help with construction but I'm not sure if my dad will let me use Skype.
