Making constructive suggestions

CONTENTS:
1. Why is it important?
2. Making the suggestions
2a. State the suggestion
2b. Tell why it would help Scratch
2c. (optional) Tell some other related ideas.
3. Things not to suggest

1. Why is it important?
Making constructive suggestions is important. When suggesting something, you need to be detailed, tell why it will benefit, and tell other related ideas that might prevent spammers and trollers. Important Point: Not all suggestions get implimented. If yours doesn't get implimented, don't worry. Infact, more suggestions are turned down than implimented. (Learned that the hard way.)

2. Making the suggestions
First of all, in order to actually make something, click the Post New Topic     button at the bottom right corner of the screen. Scroll down all the way, then beneath the botton row, there it is. Click that. There will be a screen to type the idea. Go to the top, skinny bar that says subject. What you type in is what the topic will be named. If you want the topic to be renamed after it has been posted, click the report button and for the reason, ask it to be renamed (Remember to put what you want the new name to be!)
  2a. State the suggestion.
Tell what your suggestion is. Explain it a bit- explain what it would do, for example, if you wanted a new [say letter pick random (1) to (26)] button, explain that it would say any random letter in the English alphabet and if you typed in, say, pick random (2) to (25) then explain that it would say any letter between B and Y.
2b. Tell why it would help Scratch.
Tell what it would do to benefit Scratch. I usually like making a list of Pros and Cons for this matter. This part would tell why we need it on Scratch, and why it would benefit the whole community.
2c. (optional) Tell some other related ideas.
This would mean, if we were decreasing the 60 second rule,(See chapter 3, things not to suggest ▼) maybe make a list of ideas. Or, quote people who had good ideas to benefit the suggestion. You don't have to do this, though.

Re: Making constructive suggestions

Did you know the Post New Topic is at the top too?  tongue
And BTW, I made a script that shows your messages in the forums. See it here.

Nice guide though! Maybe even sticky-worthy...
