Plugin help

I'm creating an MC server called wheelcraft, and I need help with installing plugins. I use akliz, and I connected to the FTP server using filezilla, but i cant find the plugins folder. I need to have this to place the plugins.

Are you using the Vanilla Server or the Bukkit one?

I think its bukkit, but im not sure.
