this bug on the forums really makes things confusing
i cannot see what time posts were made because the time is wrong, but every time i change the time zone to GMT it goes back 5 hours again! n why is that default anyway- GMT should be default because it's where time always starts and ends... technically

For now, everyone's stuck with Eastern Standard Time because that's the time zone MIT is in. And with Scratch 2.0 coming out, fixing it isn't exactly the top priority for the Scratch Team right now. Sorry.

That bug's been around for a while now, but as gettysburg11 pointed out, it's not exactly top priority to be fixed 
It is extremely annoying though ._.
