GarageBand isn't for Ubuntu or Windows.
You could use MuseScore if you're doing sheet music.

Uh, no. I'd say the best for recording, mixing, and editing would be something like Cubase IMO or at least Logic Pro if you're going with Apple products. And GarageBand can't export to .mid, so it's not really optimal for MIDI either. It is alright for a free program though.

GarageBand would be really neat to have. Do you know if there's anything like wine that runs mac programs in ubuntu? (Here I go again with saying things that sound a little... odd. I've been doing that a lot today)

1. It costs money unless it comes with your Mac.
2. Not that I know of, but you could use VMware to emulate a Mac like I do.

That stinks. My computer doesn't have good enough hardware to run mac. Anyway, I don't want to spend the 20 bucks to get the disk, and don't want to get it illegally. I could always ask the aliens. They're bound to have one.

MuseScore!
Hmm. Interesting. I'll have to check it out. I have to download SUSE on my other computer, and then I'll check it out. Do you know how I could make electric type beats? I forget what they're called.

Drum machine?
I use HammerHead, which is a Windows program.

Thanks. Did you ever make that veggieQ&A I suggested? Can I have a link if you did?

I did but I ended up never using it. You could probably just tweet things at me or ask me on Scratch.

Ok It'd be nice if there was a PM feature on scratch. I can see how it would cause problems though.

Yeah. So Twitter is probably your best option.

I've used Anvil Studio and MuseScore before, both seem to be pretty good.
