Right now, I'm trying to listen to every number-one single on the U.S. Billboard charts from 1940 to today, to see the progression of popular music. I'm currently on the year 1951, closing in on 1952.
Around this time, big band/swing/vocal music seemed to be pretty popular - lot of Perry Como, Patti Page, Jo Stafford, and what not. There's also quite a few novelty/comedy records here and there.

I thought that was alright but the unintelligibility of the vocals were pretty detrimental.

I thought the guitar was really nice, but the vocals could be improved.

Definitely—the lead guitar was absolutely stellar.

He's very talented in that way. I couldn't understand what he was saying.
