I made an engine based off of ProgrammingFreak's engine, and it's much smoother! All that's left to add is a regular sword thrust and we can start programming.
Also, jakeemma, you may want to control this topic better, as some people are getting out of hand and/or are newbies.

Sorry. I'm trying, but with school and everything, I have no time.
I'm doing my best.

The style of the game will be side-view when in towns, battles, or rooms, and will be top-down in the overworld, almost identical to Legend of Zelda II: Link's Adventure. As for the sprites, the side-view sprites of link should be OldSkoolMario's sheet: http://www.spriters-resource.com/custom … heet/17392
As for the top-down sprites, I dunno, maybe we could use another one of OldSkoolMario's sheets: http://www.spriters-resource.com/custom … heet/17368
And for enemies, we can just use various enemy sprites from Minish Cap and Four Swords.

must warn you, FINGIN won't like you taking charge! I tried to get things moving by sorting out the numerous problems with top-down view, and he told me to get on with 3D and let him do 2D stuff. Plus, the overworld will be 3D sailing, however, I think that: towns be top-down and rooms should be side-scrolling. I don't think an entire town should be side-scrolling.

Fine, towns don't have to be side-viewed.
IMO, I don't think FINGIN should be in this collab, as he does not know enough about Scratch and he is trying to do whatever he wants. I don't care what we do, I'm just suggesting the best options.
And BTW, there will only be scrolling in the overworld. Rooms don't take up too much space.

I don't get the last bit. So, rooms are S-scrolling, towns aren't, but the overworld??? I think 3D sailing would be more interesting than an S-scrolling or top-down view overworld, unless you'd prefer the 3D sailing to be a little mini-game that can be unlocked later, and the overworld remain top-down?

What I mean is, towns are top-down scrolling, overworld is top-down scrolling, rooms and battles are side-view without scrolling.
And what do you mean by "3D sailing?"

You sail in a ship and avoid obstacles. IF the overworld is the sea, than you would sail between islands. IF the overworld is land, and only a mini-game was the sea, then you would have to collect things in that mini-game. Basically, do you think a large field should be used or Wind-Waker/Phantom Hourglass hub would be better as a overworld?

A large field.
This game isn't going to be like Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass.
Of course, there could be a minigame(like you said,) or it could be used in a certain area/dungeon of the game, like the Lanayru Sand Sea from Skyward Sword. But I don't think going from 2D to 3D would be a good idea.

Well, I don't see what the problem is between switching over, plus it adds variety having multiple dimensions, and brings forth new elements of gameplay, unless you want this to be like Every-Single other scratch-zelda game? I'm on my Half-Term holiday, so that means I've got a full week off school to get down some programming, so the quicker we plan out the first couple of levels the less of my holiday I waste.

Fine, if you can do it, it's fine, but my worry is that the 3D Link sprite will look different than the 2D one.
In other news, I was going around Newgrounds, and I found some cool music that I think would fit in our game. At first I was gonna add music from Skyward Sword, but if we want Untold Legends to be featured, I can't include it
Here's the download link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/IqQEhK0W/Zelda_music.html

Well, you probably won't see Link because he'll be inside the ship anyway. And don't worry, I'll get it working!

I just wanted everyone to know it was there.
In other news, I don't think multiple save files are necessary.

Well they add a feature to the game, it makes it look more professional. All we have to do is, every time a level is finished I'll have to download it and make sure it is compatible with the auto-save mechanism. I don't see anything BAD about multiple save files, and there's no reason NOT to have them, so we might as well.

well I can see i am not needed here.
bye.
I don't what yellowfuzz problem with me is.
But heres what I did so far.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/FINGIN/2342436

I wrote up a new storyline(completely original!) We can still keep that frog guy as the main enemy.
A long time ago, there was a land of prosperity and wealth. This land was called Hyrule. Hyrule prospered for many years. It seemed as if everything was perfect, when suddenly a horde of monsters from the forest surrounding the kingdom attacked! The ancient sages knew something had to be done immediately, so they used their combined powers to create the Scepter of Legend. This magical item out the minds of the monsters at peace and kept the away from Hyrule. However,if the scepter was broken, the monsters would start attacking again, and if it got in the wrong hands, an evildoer could control the minds of the monsters, sending the kingdom into an era of darkness. So the ancient sages sealed the scepter in the Temple of Legend, where it remained untouched for ages, until now...
So basically after this into, he destroys the scepter. You have to find all of the pieces, but in the final boss battle, he says that you did a good job doing all of the work for him and steals the completed scepter.
