Anyone doing FAWM?

FAWM, February Album Writing Month, is a project where users can sign up and then write 14 songs throughout the month of February, which means around one every other day. It's kind of like NaNoWriMo, but for music. This year, though, fawmers have to do 14 ½, because it's a leap year. That means that you have to collaborate with someone on a song.

My username is veggieman on there and I'll post a link once it starts and I've uploaded demos.

Re: Anyone doing FAWM?

Write or write and produce?

This could be some pretty good practice for me, might get someone else into rapping for the collab, or I could mix with someone from the completely different side and see how that turns out.

I just read the FAQ, it's just writing but you can sing them if you want.

You only have to write them, but many people record demos and/or final versions of songs.

I made an account, the name is pretty hard to guess, it's Liru, I know that may shock most of you.

Now to collab with someone, hmmmm.

Wow. I won't do it, I'm too lazy, but good luck! Are you going to produce finished versions of all the songs you create?

It depends on how much I like the songs I make and how much time I have, but I'm going to at least do demos.

I wonder if music written in garageband is allowed?

You should try to do a demo of all of them, then you'll get a better idea of your fondness of certain ones.

Wait, you're 15?
Somehow I thought you were a lot younger.

You have to be 15+ to get an account, so I lied, you won't see anyone displaying an age of -15 on there.

Re: Anyone doing FAWM?

Lemme get this straight. FOURTEEN (and a half) songs in a month? That has to be the most ridiculous, yet awesome idea ever. I'm in!  big_smile

But why do they need my zip code?  hmm

EDIT: Heh, I'm 13. Gotta lie about that, too. xD

I don't get why it's capped at 15, seems like an odd age to me. (Hoorah for puns)

I'm going to try get a demo for every song I write, although getting the beats may be hard.

I would recommend that you stop complaining, and get a headstart.  wink

Time to get working on song #1, an ambient track.  big_smile

You can also use muse.fawm.org and a rhyming dictionary.

Re: Anyone doing FAWM?

That would be neat.
If I had more than one idea for a song.
I'm currently composing the music for that one, but I need better composition software.

Re: Anyone doing FAWM?

Sounds neat.
Dunno if I could bust out 14 songs in a month though.
Ill need to lock myself in my room with my keyboard and guitars.
