Hi! I have a duct tape business at my school where I make jewelry, purses, card holders, and bookmarks to sell. Does anyone else like to create duct tape stuff? (Flower pens, bracelets, catapults, collars, etc.)

Sounds cool! Sadly, we don;t keep much duct tape around the house.
I had to go buy some since my dad didn't have any. ^__^

I think that stuff is really terrible and schools shouldn't allow it. Does yours or are you sneaky and sell it when no adults are looking?
Oi, what's wrong with duct tape?

I just think it's pointless and I see kids using their money on it all the time. Kids shouldn't trick other kids into buying their junk.

It's not tricking other kids, if the kid wants to buy it, they'll buy it.

My school allows it and encourages it. (They even have a class where you make your own business and stuff.) Our principal bought three flower pens. xD Anyways, I don't trick anyone, one kid actually asked me to start selling my duct tape creations, so I did. That's how it began. I only charge about a quarter a bookmark, and only ten cents a ring.

Um, I don't think anyone is tricking anyone.
And you can make really cool stuff out of duct tape. It's art. Out of tape. XD

Do you have any pictures or projects showing your creations? They sound cool

Thank you I'll try to get some pictures up soon. I first got the idea when I saw the duct tape at an arts and crafts store, and my friends told me what you could make with duct tape. I was surprised and excited at the new possibility, so I bought a roll and made a bookmark. My friend asked if I could make one for her, and I did. Then she asked me to start selling my duct tape items to our school. Maybe I can take some pictures with my camera tonight..

Duct tape things are cool but not THAT cool. Do you only know how to make roses or are there other things?
I don't really do roses, I do purses, bookmarks, rings, chain necklaces and bracelets, bows, and soon (if I can find out how) earrings. I also made a duct tape cat ear headband for my Halloween costume last year.

That sounds so neat! Unfortunately, we're not allowed to waste "gold" like that.

We don't have any duct tape

Duct tape earrings aren't entirely made out of duct tape, you need to find earring pieces or make them yourself out of jewelry wire (both easily found in most craft stores) and then attach the duct tape pieces to the earrings.

I've got no idea how to make the catapult, honestly. But with duct tape, there's got to be some way. We made a catapult in class once, and I think it included duct tape, but I can't really remember. Now that was a fun science project.
Oh, that's too bad. It's really fun to do. I bought the first duct tape roll myself, and then I used the money I got from my first items to get another roll.

Thank you! I'll check the next time I get to my local craft store for any earring pieces-- one of the girls in my class asked if I could make her a pair of duct tape hoop earrings. :]
