What? Are you just jealous because you know Liverpool are gonna finish ahead of Chelsea now?  wink

Chelsea got a new manager. They won the Uefa Championship, the FA cup, and finished fourth in the Premier league.

I hope Liverpool does the same, and I'm saying this out of pure pity.

Re: New Official Football (soccer) Topic

All clubs temporarily improve when they get a new manager. Remember when Liverpool appointed Kenny? The truth is, his tactics were awful, the only reason he got off to a good start was because that always happens with new managers for whatever reason. Chelsea won't be able to have a season like that again.

And, they finished fifth, not fourth.

Tottenham was in fourth.
They said if Chelsea beat Bayern Munich, they would bump Tottenham.
They beat Bayern Munich.

Winning the Champion's League doesn't affect your league position.

I don't have a link, but the commentary said.

Re: New Official Football (soccer) Topic

Winning the Champion's League meant they took Tottenham's Champion's League place, they didn't actually overtake them in the league. That's just one of the perks of winning it -- qualification for next year's competition, regardless of league position.

How can you read what a commentator says?

1) Um, okay.
2) Putting "****" is pretty much just as bad. It's obvious what you meant.

The contexts were different. There's a difference between using it instead of a four letter swear word and using it to point something out.

It actually wasn't anything to do with Rodgers, it was just part of the original deal.

His first game will be 21st July (a day before my birthday).
