Hey Everyone! My Dad and I finally made a Virtual PC of Windows 95. Unfortunately, I am not uploading the VHD file we've created for security reasons. But you can find some VHD files that other people have made by searching for "Windows 95 VHD" using your favourite search engine.
Here is what we've used on our own Windows 95 Virtual PC:
-We've used a Windows 95 OSR2.5 ISO Image
-We've bumped up the RAM to about 256MB. (It might be 248MB of RAM, but I'm not sure.)
-We've made the floppy disk drive to not auto-detect a floppy disk.
-We've set the network adapters to None.
-And the CD-ROM Drive is set at the secondary controller.
I've tried it out on the basement computer and it really worked! After My Dad and I tried it out on the basement computer, I tried it on my own with my Windows XP Computer.
I've tried out:
-Microsoft Paint
-Hardwood Solitare II
-and a few others that run perfectly on Windows 95.
Let me know what you think of this forum post. Thanks!

What Did you DOWNLOAD an ISO file and used it, or did you make an ISO out of the official CD? Because downloading is illegal
I'm running Windows 95 on VirtualBox, memories of me playing my old Sony Vaio Laptop that's so old now that the screen doesn't work.
All i did was make an ISO out of my installation disk, I'm NOT giving the ISO, so DON'T ask.
@pop12345678900000 "can you copy the files"
"I am not uploading the VHD file we've created for security reasons." -_- ACTUALLY read the post next time? Not only for privacy/security reasons, it's also ILLEGAL to download/upload a free copy of Windows 95 on/to the internet.

Cool. I ran Windows 98 once.
@pop12345678900000: yeah, it's still illegal. You have to pay for the CD.

I doubt they still sell Windows '95 so you're probably on safe legal grounds
nope, it's still under copyright
you'd have to find it at like goodwill or something for it to be legal

that's true, it's not like they care if you really want an operating system that's more than 15 years old
but if you were sued on it then yeah they'd win

I'm pretty sure the Virtual PC thing means you don't have to pay for the CD or something as long as you paid for the current OS or something. I'm not sure.
And yea, 95 was the first Windows to have a start menu. I used to use a 95, then a 98.

The first computer I ever used was a 98 machine, if i remember correctly. Only thing I ever did on it was play Mickey Mouse games and stick several CDs in every crack big enough to fit them through. Hey, I was 2 or 3 at the time.

I must have been only a few years older. It was a 95, then later a 98, and I pretty much just did writing (yay! productive!), drawing (even more productive!) and the built in games (awww ).

A couple of weeks ago, I installed a Windows 95 and Windows 3.1 image on my iPod Touch. Windows 95 takes at least 5 minutes to load. The program that takes the longest to load is noticeably Internet Explorer.

I might have tried to play (and failed at) minesweeper. But of course, since I was a baby and toddler at the time, I can't remember.
