Questions and Answers:
Q: Where will the new forums be?
A: They will be under a new category named Interests Beyond Scratch
Q: Is Miscellaneous going to be deleted?
A: Miscellaneous will not be deleted. Instead, it will be moved to the archived section. Even though you can’t post there, you can still read all the topics and posts and go back there whenever you want.
Q: Where will the TBG link go?
A: The TBG link will most likely go under the new forum, Reading and Playing.
Q: Will new scratchers be allowed to post in the new sections?
A: Yes! That’s the exciting part about the new forums! Now, anyone can post anywhere on the forums!
Q: Are images coming back?
A: This has still not been decided yet.
I’ll add more to this as we go along

I doubt it - if they were though, this would get a lot more support.
But no, I suppose that [img] tags will be disabled until they can think of a more secure solution.

Not just yet, IMG tags could still be abused no matter how much forum restructuring was in place.
The main issue about IMG tags is that the ST is probably still scouting around for a good hosting site (I'm not in the loop on the coding for website changes, I'm assuming that sites are still being mulled over and the ST has not yet worked on the code for the modified IMG tags).

We can't post in the mod forums, closed forums, or make topics in Announcements or FAQ :3

Not exactly. Not everyone will be able to post anywhere because only mods and ST members will be able to post new topics in the announcements forums, and nobody will be able to post in misc, or any other archived forums for that matter.
Just stating the obvious.

What are the needs of hosting sites? Because I might be able to make one, with what the needs are.

I do see the need to have a 'Polls & Surveys" forum though.Dunno if that's quite needed yet, for the most part, you could still create poll topics in either of the two sections so long as the question is relevant - for example, you could ask something like "Pokemon vs. Digimon" in the "Things I'm reading and playing".
When the off-topic forum was created, it was kind of assumed that it would still be a place for creativity - not a catch-it-all for any topic in general. The proposed replacement focuses more on the ideals that the Media Lab embodies.
Of course, one might never know what happens in the future - maybe the categories will change again (there was a looooong debate on whether or not to make a third category for those interested in things like modding and programming in other languages!), but we'll have to wait. Right now, we're sticking with two and watching how the community will grow over time; categories can always be created/modified later if needed.
On an off-topic note, a poll function would be nice, though. It would be useful for things like Project Ideas and Suggestions.Anything about programming though, is covered in advanced topics... I wouldn't like to have to go down to IAM to post about all my programming things, Jeez, most of my later posts have been in Advanced Topics, rather than in Misc. I guess I moved on from games & the such
Actually, I've seen it in both Miscellaneous and Advanced Topics, one of the big issues of that debate about the need of a programming etc. forum was that if Advanced Topics should be left to things more related to Scratch (such as modified version of the interface), or if it could be open to advanced things in general.

But some mods of scratch are written in different languages That totally answers it. But nah, AT wouldn't be the same without all the programming topics. And it wouldn't have anything in there.

Lol. That's likely not going to be found
My one was going to add in some security though. With reporting functions and the such. It will also be based on a family TOC as well.

maybe they could make their own image hosting site and review everything on it before it can be posted!
