Some school, and hobby topics should fit into the new sections.

For all the people quitting and flaming, you're really just showing that you aren't a true Scratch member if the only reason you were here was to post on Misc.
Wow. Being misrepresentative, a bit?
We're protesting by quitting because we believe the ST is doing something wrong.
So we're not being true Scratch members by doing what we believe is right?
We'll still post projects and such.
Just not use the forums.
Is that a problem?

They're not doing anything wrong. They're doing this to help the community, not hurt it.

Yes, but there are others who think otherwise, you have to respect that.

Most of these fall into social issues should really be talked over with a person in real life. The Scratch forum (nor any other forum community for that matter) should be no substitute for advice on personal life manners.

I mean that it was its OWN community. It was entirely different from the chaos and mediocrity of the main site. I honestly couldn't care less about how "Scratch as a whole" feels.

There are so many things that I'm not embarrassed saying online because nobody here knows me in real life
But offline is a whole different story.

I don't necessarily mean advice. Just discussion. Discussion that makes us learn more about each other, and overall helps the community.

That's the misconception of internet anonymity, that everyone thinks that because no can see who you are over the computer screen, it's supposedly okay to say it.
The fact is that it really isn't; thinking that way is nothing more than replacing real human interaction with a digital one that is not as socially bonding. If we can't talk to people we know about our problems, what does that really tell us as a person, or as a society?

We aren't flaming...
Both sides have an opinion and both sides have the liberty to share they're opinions.

That we don't want people we know to know too much about us?
And I think it's fine because it's not like they can torture me about it till I'm on my deathbed or anything
Unless I'm on Scratch till then
But I'm uncomfortable telling my friends about a lot of things I'll say on here.

Miscellaneous isn't dying, it's just getting split into two sections.
And guys, what the ST is meaning is that the stuff that doesn't fit into either category shouldn't be here in the first place.
