Actually, the first Pokemon created was Rhydon according to Ken Sugimori (the man in charge of art and character design at Game Freak

It has to be something from the first Pokemon games (Red and Blue, the only good ones) probably Mewtwo because he was originally the best Pokemon until they introduced stupid events and Arceus.

Rhydon was indeed the first Pokemon ever created, Bulbasaur was merely ordered first.
My favorite is probably either Sceptile, Kyogre, or Beedrill.
