Did I hear MASCARA?

WHAT? I was looking at what I needed for my costume since I got a lead in a play(I regret trying out.) and it said boys and girls:
Blah Blah Blah...

Black mascara

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Re: Did I hear MASCARA?

I'm a girl and I play video games all the time, especially shooters. Gender stereotypes are almost nonsensical. Who said that boys have to wear jeans and play sports and girls wear dresses and cook? And mascara looks hot on boys.

Those seem like they're not meant for a specific gender IMO. I think that makeup just feels like that. and I said WEARING.

Mascara looks hot on anybody. Put some on and if your still uncomfortable, get used to it.

If someone feels the need to change, is it really all that correct in terms of arguments to say things about gender roles then? I have no problem with the decision, but wouldn't that then mean they technically apply to both?

Code:

Actors where makeup all the time. It helps with problems
that could come for lighting, as well as the character.
Nobody will care, or might not notice, you have it on
while you're acting anyway.

Re: Did I hear MASCARA?

Whoever said that mascara was geared only for girls?  hmm

From my previous experience as part of a dance troupe, I can tell you right now that the black mascara is just supposed to define the eyes out more because stage lights have a tendency to make your face look horribly pale regardless of skin color and complexion. I'm surprised that black mascara seems to be the only makeup material in your list (although, that's an assumption I'm making since it's the only thing you pointed out), the list of makeup requirements is usually more than that; I recommend looking into using eyeliner and foundation while you're at it, depending on how glaring the stage light might be.

Re: Did I hear MASCARA?

I play in a theater group and when we are on stage, every boy/man (and girls/women xD) have to wear mascara and make up. it's normal! We use make up/mascara, because it looks better in spotlight. If you belive it or not, every person on TV wears make up too (if it's a serious TV show) and every actor wears make up.

wow. that was hard to explain in english. i hope you understand what I mean.

In my eyes, nothing is "meant" for either gender; people of either gender can wear anything if they want to.

What I think isn't for boys is bright red lipstick and hot pink high heels. xD And I don't think that girls should have beards. xD
