Mine is a complete mess. There are so many on my Desktop that icons are going off the page. I really need to get organized.
I already know a lot of people are going to say they don't organize their computers.
So, how do you organize yours?

I have a folder that says stuff, with subfolders that contain subfolders that contain subfolders. Theres a music section and then an illegal music section with files, zipped. And unzipped folders. You have to see it to belieb it.

I don't. xD
But yeah, I really should... my Pictures folder is really out of hand! No programs like to explore it. I really need to get everything in folders

My desktop has one file called Desktop. I keep stuff which I would put on my desktop in there. Documents go in the documents file. Images in the pictures folder.

I have my home folder, which is divided into folders such as movies, documents etc, and then they are divided into stuff, schoolwork, and any others I might need and then thats it.

I, for one, actually do organize my PC's desktop
I use Stardock Fences to keep my folders, stray files, and important applications "fenced away" to keep them from cluttering my desktop. And DropIt is also useful; drop a file onto the icon, and it whisks it away to a more organized spot.
As for Mac, I just use stacks and spaces. No need to clutter my desktop.

Spaces are epic, and very powerful

I use fences, but other than that, I just put files in random spots. Why do I do that?
My downloads folder is huuuuuge.
Ok yes, I am organized a little bit.

I'm VERY organised. I only have one folder on my desktop, but inside that there's hundreds! (Including sub-sub-folders )
And I've almost used up the 220gb, because I don't like to delete stuff, even if I'm sure I'll never need them again. So my computer's full of homework that I did three years ago.
Basically, the first thing you think is "Oh, what a wonderfully tidy laptop!" and then when you open the folder it's more like "My God, what have I done?!"

Same. I still have things I made 4 years ago! 0_0

Wait until your harddrive dies ----> zero files to sort!
I find its difficult to separate the ever growing less important from the awesome files!
Sorting by genre and date is the way i try to keep up.
Spacesniffer by uderzo.it is great to sort by size.

Scatter all the icons around my desktop, and delete System32 to make extra space

You mean people actually put files in certain places?
All mine go into a partition or downloads folder.

I'm extremely organized. My desk is not.
Anyone in the world could come on my computer (that reads English) and be able to locate something.

I have lots of folders and subfolders.
