Re: Peak Oil

To be honest, I'm more scared about the Yellowstone volcano erupting. It would wipe out the whole of America, meaning Americans will move to other countries, meaning countries would be seriously over-populated, meaning jobs will be harder to get, meaning food will be harder to get, meaning illnesses will increase, meaning we die.
What a cheery post that was!  tongue

Countries wouldn't be seriously over-populated unless we all move to the same one.
But there is one thing I can be sure of, full airports.  tongue

Yeah, I doubt EVERYONE would be able to leave in time  hmm
But if people move to countries in a bad financial state, it'll be even harder to get a job that pays enough, so they'll be an increase in the number of people living on the streets  hmm

Oh, that's good. I was getting worried about this whole oil thing, so it's good to know that it won't happen after all  smile

You know what they thought in the 80's? "In 2010, we will have used up all of our oil." Look at us now. Constant breakthroughs help find more oil, and every deposit adds years to the peak oil. More and more solar and wind tech is being made. We will find a way to cope. We always have.

You know my other post was a joke, right?  tongue
But anyway, there's some good points there, but it's bound to run out eventually. Even if it is like, 50 years after the prediction, it'll happen eventually; it's impossible for it not to!

Re: Peak Oil

Just imagine how rich Dubai would be during Peak Oil. Ridiculous, I know.

Guess we'll have to move to Mr. Fusion. (lol, Back to the Future)

The entire misc community will move to some forest with a nice stream and lots of wood. We will all carve our history into the rock of a nearby mountain. We will punch trees and mine diamond until we have a thriving village, and then continue that way for 5 years, after which an animal farm scenario occurs. Then we are done for.

Aside from the "then we're done for" part, this sounds like the life to live.

Oh, and don't forget the part when we make a portal out of purple stuph, enter Hell, kill all of the demons and tormented souls, extract its valuable resources, and leave the place in shambles.

Yep.

And we find out that our whole life was a dream...and ignore that because we want to build giant castles.

I heard. The magnetic field will also flip.

I guess we'll just have to look at the white end of the compass. *shrugs*
