That comes with your computer? If you have Windows, command line?

Also notepad on windows and textedit on Mac can be used if you know a programming language  smile

Notepad. Save it as a "Filename.bat" (Use "" ) It makes a CMD Program. You can make a tbg out of it.

Flash doesn't come with your computer (well it doesn't for me), but you can make platformers with it. I'm pretty sure you already have it, though.

In WindozeNT Software Operating System (when it gets released), there will be many IDEs that you can use to create platformers with.

Windows, Linux, or Mac?  On Linux and Mac, you've got Java and Python and a whole bunch of other stuff, and if you download Xcode free from the App Store, C, C++, and Objective-C.  Nothing comes with Windows.  Well, now that I think about it, I think that some versions of VC++ do.  So you know, VC++?

Use notepad. You can program an HTML5 canvas, and program it with Javascript. It's possible to make a game with that.
Here's a tutorial.
