Re: Apps

The Scratch Team's busy working on Scratch 2.0 at the moment  hmm  The iPod range doesn't support Flash anyway, so yeahhh Scratch on an iPad would require them to completely rewrite Scratch for a third time, which I don't think they'd want to do  tongue

Re: Apps

There was one, but Apple took it down after a while. if you can find the download, you can compile it yourself and use it on there...

Re: Apps

If your device has internet access, you can go on scratch.mit.edu. But the problem is that devices like that can't support Flash, so it doesn't work.

Re: Apps

Please, no necroposting. We already know everything we need to know about why there is no Scratch app.

Are you doing a collab and need a 24/7 TeamSpeak channel? Contact me... somewhere. =P

Re: Apps

Does Scratch 2.0 work on the "One Tablet Per Child" OTPC?
(Sorry, I don't have an OTPC at this time)

Or does Scratch run on Windows Surface (Windows8 or WindowsRT)?
(I don't have one of those either)

BTW, is it a good idea to base Scratch on Flash since Adobe is ending support for Flash?

Also, Scratch apps for tablets (Android or iOS or Windows8) can be distributed from this site without subjecting to the Apple or Google or Microsoft App Store policies.

Re: Apps

While you can download and install android apps from a website, all apple apps must be downloaded from their App Store.

I'm not quite sure about the compatibility with other devices but I'm fairly sure scratch works with windows 8.

I believe you should post a separate topic for this.

If you can install Flash in an OLPC (I suppose you could, as it's basically a x86 Fedora GNU/Linux afaik), yes.

Should work perfectly in desktop Windows 8, but not Windows RT as that's built for mobiles, which have an entirely different processor architecture (ARM).

Probably not. Flash is very laggy and won't run well in low-end machines.

Yes, but installing unauthorized iOS apps (which seems to be the major demand here) is a hassle.

Actually, Dev may have felt that he could further contribute to a discussion that was still currently relevant.

But it isn't really relevant, so...
