The Java player has more bugs than the flash player. Why not set it to be default?

Well, the flash player has its fair share of bugs, too.
We're not going to get rid of the Java player because some projects only work on it.
The best thing you can do is just set your player to the Flash player, and never set it back to the Java Player.

We wouldn't have to get rid of the Java player, but most projects run better in the Flash player than the Java player.

I know its hard to believe, but a fine selection of my projects work much better in Java. I think us scratchers should have a choice in what to choose: Flash, or Java.

You do, but the default, before you have set your preferences, should be Flash.
Yeah, I agree.

By the way, is there any way to change the player when you're logged off? I have soem friends at school who like my projects, but can only play them online in a small screen unless I log them in.

I agree with LS97, if the flash player is not enabled by default, you should at least have the option to use it when you are offline.
