I love sad songs, like Cancer by MCR and Give Me a Sign by Breaking Benjamin. Any other emotional songs, particularly about death, that you know of? Not suicide. ;n; I love those sort of songs so much.

I'm more of a fan of sad music done in a more classical style, like this one. For some reason I can't ever get into sad songs made by bands or singers unless the background music is also done with more classical instruments as well (Linkin Park's "My December" comes to mind as one example).

I love mad world by Gary Jules, one of my favourite songs.

Is Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri a sad song?
Because if it is...I LOVE that song.

Let's see, three come to mind straight away, you have to listen to the lyrics...
Beautiful People by Cher Lloyd (feat. Carolina Liar)
Lyrics extract
Cause it's beautiful people like you, who get whatever they want
and it's beautiful people like you, who suck the life right outta my heart
and it's beautiful people like you, who make me cry
'cause nobody else could be nearly as cruel as you
Lyrics extract
When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach so
She ran away in her sleep
and dreamed of
paradise
Every time she closed her eyes
Because of You by Kelly Clarkson
Lyrics extract
Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid
Those three should satisfy at least one music style... so take your pick I love all three.

I love Linkin Park. Ever hear their new song, Iridescent? It's a beautiful song, and it reminds me of shimmering lights. Which is really nice since iridescent means shimmering <

I love Paradise! Prefer Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, but I like Coldplay's new one, Charlie Brown. The album they are from (Mylo Xyto I think) is a concept album, a love story about two teenagers who are in different street gangs who graffiti on walls a lot.

apparently my love of irony carried on to music, because i like happy sounding songs with sad words and sad sounding songs with happy words a lot :0
i'll MAKE A LIST
(using the only appropriate ones i can remember :I)
Sounds happy but is actually kinda sad
O Valencia! by The DecemberistsOur families can't agree
I'm your brother's sworn enemy
But I'll shout out my love to the starsHolland, 1945 by Neutral Milk Hotel
The only girl I've ever loved
Was born with roses in her eyes
But then they buried her alive, one evening 1945
With just her sister at her side
///
And it's so sad to see the world agree
that they'd rather see their faces filled with flies
All while I'd want to keep white roses in their eyesI was getting ready to be a threat
I was getting set for my accidental suicide
The kind where no one dies, no one looks too surprised
And then you, then you realize that you're riding on the para-success
of a heavy-handed metaphor
And a feeling like you've been here before
Songs that are just sad
Butterfly by WeezerEverytime I pin down what I think I want it slips away
The goal slips away
I told you I would return
When the robin makes his nest
But I ain't never coming back
I'm sorryWish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
How I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year
Running over the same old ground, what have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

It's not really a song, but the Assassin's Creed Revelations theme is quite sad. http://www.scratch.mit.edu/ext/youtube/?v=AfqGOfDEVhw

Empty Chairs at Empty Tables
Honestly, I'm going to be a mess when I see this next year... This was the first time I watched Les Mis and I was tearing up a little. Live... oh, boy
A bit of background on the song: Marius (the guy singing the song [played by Nick Jonas here- actually did a semi-decent job]) is the only one of his friends to survive an attack on the barricade that they built in a revolutionary movement in Paris in the post-Napolionic era. All of the guys that come in behind him are the ones who have died and he's the only one who survived (thanks to a certain Jean Valjean).
There's a grief that can't be spoken.
There's a pain goes on and on.
Empty chairs at empty tables
Now my friends are dead and gone.
Here they talked of revolution.
Here it was they lit the flame.
Here they sang about `tomorrow'
And tomorrow never came.

I usually cry in pain when I hear that song, but mine are actually tear-jerkers ;_;
Sieze the day
And don't regret the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here;
So many people to ache over...
I see my vision burn
I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry

I think the saddest ones are:
What I've Done by Linkin Park
Crash by Sum 41
Boulevard Of Broken Dreams by Green Day
And there's one more by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, which I always forget the name of I'll just see if I can find it.
