Hey guys, this is WingsGames, and I want to help good projects get noticed and curated!
I've decided to start reviewing projects. They will be reviewed out of 100, using the 7 categories below:
Ideas (25 pts): This is what the idea for your project was. If it was new, original, and exciting, it's a 20. If it has been used many times over, or is just a boring project, the rating will probably be lower.
Gameplay (25 pts): This is how the project works. Were the bosses too hard? Were there too many features? Not enough?
Ease of use(15 pts): This is how easy the controls/navigation of the project were. Do the buttons/keys used make sense for their functions? Are they easy to reach?
Understandability (15 pts): This is how easy the project is to follow. Does the sequence of events make sense? Is it easy to tell what does what?
Feel (10 pts): This is hthe tone the project takes. Did the project stick with one sort of feel or tone? Was it offensive? Did the feel/tone jump around to much?
Graphics (5 pts.): This is how the project looks. Are the motions smooth? Are the sprites high-quality? Do all the sprites have the same style?
Sound (5 pts): This is how sound is used in the project. Does the background music make sense? Are the sound effects placed in appropriate places? Do the sounds ever get tedious?
I will review any project you submit, and, if your project gets a high enough rating, it could receive one of these rewards:
85 pts. or higher: A love-it
90 pts. or higher: A place in the Spectacular Projects Gallery
95 pts. or higher: Will be entered in a weekly drawing of projects I will suggest to be front paged.
The highest rated project will go in my sig as project of the week.
As you can see, there are a lot of opportunities to get your project noticed and improved on this page. However, as these reviews will take time, I am asking that you look at my stuff. You don't have to, but it would be nice.
Also, one project per person. I can only write oh-so-many reviews in one day!
News:
-Next drawing is on Dec. 29.
-I will be choosing the first project of the week on Dec. 29.
Projects in drawing:
None.
Highest rated this week: Goob Ghosts.
P.S: After the first review, you can submit your project, but I will only rate it, I won't re-review it.

Hey, could you try this: You won't regret it!

Review For ChickenChowMein:
Ideas (25 pts): The idea was original and exciting. It was a cool concept (I mean, how is an evil frog turning chickens into monsters NOT cool?), and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Gameplay (19 pts): Overall, this part was okay, but could've been enhanced. First off, I thought that in the first level, the jumping was a little annoying. I felt that the jumping hieght was okay, but you didn't move enough each time the left/right arrow keys were pushed. On the island, I thought that pushing the right arrow down should've moved you more. I fell behind the sand and the crabs became hidden as well. Also, the sailing got boring after a while (maybe add more obstacles).
However, a lot of the gameplay was good. The jumping, despite the annoyances, was fun. The island could've been better (more enemies, you jump higher), but it was still fun. The sailing was intuitive, but, as I said before, it got boring. I loved the multiple gameplay styles in the game. If anything makes your game famous, it's going to be that.
Ease of use(15 pts): The buttons all made sense. I knew how to move, jump, and direct the sailboat.
Understandability (12 pts): The beginning of the project didn't really make sense. What were you doing with the clouds? How was it a dream? Why did the guy think you had died, did something happen in the scene change?
Feel (9 pts): The tone was consistent overall throughout the project, but when you were talking to the wise master, the part where he says that his story would sound like a bad plot line didn't fit the tone. It was funny, but that wasn't the right place for humor.
Graphics (3 pts.): The graphics for the island and backgrounds were amazing! However, the motion of the panda was choppy, and not pleasing to the eye.
Sound (4 pts): The sounds all made sense, and were of good quality. The music fit the scenes very nicely, and helped set the mood. However, when I crashed while sailing and went back to the wise man's hut, the music kept on playing.
OVERALL: 88/100
Rewards: A love-it.
Work On: Gameplay (how far hitting the arrow keys move you), motion graphics for the panda, and the understandability of the beginning.
P.S: You can resubmit your project, but I will only re-rate it, I won't re-review it.

Review For Generation3000:
Ideas (25 pts): The idea wasn't original, but the way it was presented and adapted to scratch was. The interface and buttons worked very well, and the idea of disasters and street view were great.
Gameplay (10 pts): One word: Slow. The speed of the project really interfered with the gameplay. Everything lagged, and it was hard to do pretty much everything. Also, when I tried to place a building, it wouldn't go onto the ground, it would just follow your mouse. The buttons and menus were set up nicely, however, and they worked well.
Ease of use(5 pts): The buttons made sense, but the game was very hard to play. It was just simply too slow.
Understandability (15 pts): The game was understandable, and the subtitles under the zones and other items made sense. The "!" box gave you a clear goal.
Feel (10 pts): The game felt utilitarian throughout.
Graphics (4.5 pts.): The graphics were overall good, and the buttons and city elements all had the same style. However, the changing background was visually distracting.
Sound (5 pts): The sound was refreshing, of good quality, and made sense in the project.
OVERALL: 74.5/100
Rewards: None.
Work On: Speeding the game up. You may have to delete some features, but it would definitely be worth it.
P.S: You can resubmit your project, but I will only re-rate it, I won't re-review it.

Review For Follow The Leader
Ideas (15 pts): A maze game has been made many times. However, I haven't seen many versions where the mouse is used as navigation, so using the idea for a maze game is okay.
Gameplay (5 pts):The game doesn't incorporate the maze. You just go right through the lines, which really defeats the purpose of the game. If you want to know how to fix this, look here.
Ease of use(15 pts): The navigation of the starfish makes sense. In other words, it's easy to move, and easy to figure out how to do.
Understandability (7 pts):The objective in the game is clear. However, there is no explanation as to how you move the starfish in the game. Maybe you should make him tell you how to move.
Feel (10 pts): The game kept its puzzle feel the entire time.
Graphics (1 pt.): The graphics didn't match up, and weren't very asthetically pleasing. If you wanted to keep the sketchy feel, you should've made the starfish sketchy. Also, straight lines would've enhanced the project.
Sound (5 pts): The project didn't really need sound, so the lack of sound was okay.
OVERALL: 58/100
Rewards: None.
Work On: Color sensing and graphics.
P.S: You can resubmit your project, but I will only re-rate it, I won't re-review it.

thanks for reviewing them!
the problem with Generation 3000 is that the other features did not slow the game down at all as they are too small, so removing a feature would speed it up about 0.01%, whereas removing a tile off the city would increase it about 5% each. As you can see, making the map even smaller would mean great speed but nothing to really build on. All I can say is it was very impractical to put it onto scratch in the first place, but my Panther version which had excessive amounts of space (it was HUGE) and had no -annoying- lagging problems was better for those reasons (it used a clone system so I only needed one terrain tile rather than hundreds of them) but it was the third project I had ever made, and it was very glitchy.
(Sorry the huge speech)
I've decided to restart my Chicken Chow Mein game anyway, and go for something more serious. Don't bother writing a review for it, all I want to know for now is:
1. the mood it brings- what do you feel?
2. what tone would it make you think the rest of the game is?
the reason is, if the player gets the "right feeling", then it means that they will want to play on. if not, they'll expect a game which is completely different to what they thought it would be like. It'll only take you 2 minutes- 1 and a half to look at it (it's literally just the intro) and then around 30 secs to comment. Thankyou!

Review For Blimp Wars:
Ideas (25 pts): I've never seen a blimp game before. The idea was fresh, original, and the variation in weapons was nice.
Gameplay (20 pts): The game played well overall, but there were a couple of things that could've been fixed. First, the bombs don't detonate when they hit the turrets. That didn't really make sense, and made some aspects of the game less enjoyable. Also, I felt that the bombs should've spent less time detonated, so you can drop another one faster. One other thing is that there's no way to tell how much health the turrets have left. It isn't that annoying, but it would enhance the game.
However, the rest of the game was amazing! I loved how the bombs changed the terrain, and how the weapons progressed. However, I didn't really get how to kill the boss. How does the portal gun help you?
Ease of use(15 pts): The traditional WASD key motion made sense, and the weapon changing worked well.
Understandability (5 pts): The game didn't really make a lot of sense. What did the turrets steal? How does killing a bunch of them get you any closer to finding it?How could turrets steal something? I just didn't understand the plot.
Feel (10 pts): The game kept a steady feel.
Graphics (5 pts.): The gaphics all looked similar, and looked nice.
Sound (5 pts): The sound effects were placed in the right spots, and don't really get tedious. This won't lower your score, but background music would be a great idea.
OVERALL: 85/100
Rewards: A love-it.
Work On: A plot line (what did the turrets do? Maybe a cutscene at the beginning with a "skip" option. Engage the players!), and the bombs hurting turrets.
P.S: You can resubmit your project, but I will only re-rate it, I won't re-review it.

Review For Goob Ghosts:
Ideas (25 pts): The idea of a racing game has been used before, but I haven't seen any where your movements get recorded so that you can play against yourself. A very nice concept, and definitely fun to play!
Gameplay (19 pts): The game got hard in some places. Like, in the second ocean level, I couldn't pass. It grew frustrating, so I just started the game over. Also, the "hard" level is impossible! The game just felt too hard. Also, if you win, there's no sense of closure. It just says "human win!" Maybe make it so that after someone wins, you go back to the starting screen. One other thing is that if your opponent isn't on the same level as you, I feel that you shouldn't be able to see him. It's just distracting to see your opponent jumping on blocks that aren't there.
Flaws aside, the multiplayer mode is AMAZING! I have no clue how you got the game to record your motions, but it works great, and really makes the game more fun.
Ease of use(15 pts): The arrow keys made motion easy and quick.
Understandability (15 pts): Your goal in the game was clear: beat the other goobs.
Feel (10 pts): The game kept it's feel of fast-paced action and speed the entire time.
Graphics (5 pts.): The gaphics all looked hand-drawn, but in a good way.
Sound (4 pts): The background music fit the game, and the sound effects were a great implication of the sound library in scratch. The only sound that got annoying was the sound when you touched red.
OVERALL: 93/100
Rewards: A love-it and a spot in the gallery.
Work On: Making the levels easier. The game gets frustrating if the levels are too hard!
P.S: You can resubmit your project, but I will only re-rate it, I won't re-review it.

you're very generous when it comes to the first category- ideas. Personally, my Generation3000 game should have lost a few points because even though the way it was "presented and adapted into scratch was" good, it was still a copy of Simcity 4.
I agree with you on Chicken Chow Mein and Blimp Wars, but not so much on the maze game. Yes it did use the mouse, but other than the mouse- was it a fresh and exciting new approach on mazes that creates a whole new way and a whole diverse look on maze games? I think a little more than cursor usage would be needed to get the score as high as it is.
Everything else I've read seems reasonable- very good work!
