What's PIPA?
Do you mean SOPA?
They are the same thing, just 1 made by the House, the other by some other board thing I don't bother to remember.
Anyway, I support, though I don't see how a little list of children on a programming site would help that much.

It's the Senate.
Anyway, you're right. The goverment probably won't even see this.
I support too, though.

Nice. I agree that SOPA is a very bad idea. We may even put a banner or up or shut down on Wednesday for a while.
Obviously the ST is coming with us.
Cool!
They are, but as Lightnin said my protest project, if it looks like a real project, make sure in the notes put what SOPA is about, to make sure it doesn't look like you are gaming the community.

The bill or whatever has been stopped. PIPA is still possible though, so maybe make it your cause.

That would be why I'm not in trouble, wouldn't it.

So...
Sopa only pulls apart the internet.
Sopa (which stands for "Sopa" which stands for "Sopa" which stands for... (and so on- it's neverending) ) only pulls apart the internet.
So... It's an infinite phrase?

if SOPA passes, people will start saying "The way of Mario" or "The way of Sonic" instead of "The way of the dodo".
What's wrong with that?

I've noticed similar with with "Bump up my post" acronym. :P I noticed it with this, as soon as I read it earlier.

Er, this doesn't shut down the internet from what I can see. If minecraft used material from a lot of other games then it'd be shut down, but it's only for things using copyrighted material.

I saw this Facebook event where everyone is going to upload fake censor pics on their profile to make it look like some albums and wall images are blocked by SOPA or PIPA. I was planning to do something similar with uploading a Scratch project that looks like it's censored by SOPA or PIPA... imagine if on that day the Top Loved/Remixed/Viewed rows were filled with these images instead of your run-of-the-mill Scratch thumbnail to get the word out.
isnt this a great idea?
who else is going to do it?It's obvious I'm doing it.
I'm planning to put fake "Plushie Pal" title since a lot of people seem to like my plush animations a lot. A mock title on the project makes it look like it's actually being censored for copyrighted content.... maybe I should put fake notes as well.
I'm in, unless the 70KB dial-up limit gets reincarnated in my satellite connection.

Guys, it won't be "censored". What this bill says is that if there's ANYTHING from a copyright on the site or even linked to, THE ENTIRE SITE GETS SHUT DOWN. INSTANTLY. WITH NO TRIAL.

They could go in and change a setting so that instead of having the 'removed by ____' image, it'd be the 'SOPA' image. .3.
Or they could censor our icons, like they changed our icons to ragefaces for April Fools.

DUDE. YOUR NAME IS PAPERMARIO123. That would be censored, your sig would be censored, EVERY SINGLE MARIO AND SONIC AND KIRBY AND POKEMON AND EVERY OTHER COMMERCIAL WOULD BE CENSORED.

I'd have to backup my icon, I should do it anyway.

If you switch or they switch? If you, yes, if them, it'll come back.

Commercials wouldn't be censored if they were in the appropriate place because they're created by the people who made the thing it's advertising, usually.

And if they aren't, then whoever is using the material usually has permission from the owner.

Indeed. The project thing was my idea of a protest before someone proposed to shut the website down.
But we can still do it afterwards if the website is shut down, it makes the protest last longer.
Oh, yeah, that "someone" was me. xD
